What do? It's Umbreon Star and the only listing on tcg player can be found here so what should I do with it? Obviously it holds some value but I don't know of any Pokemon players local to me. Should I just sell it to my LGS? Obviously the best choice would be to sell it online but I don't want to deal with the internet with this.

Damn, it's the goyf of pokemon :) I mean, I don't play the game, but regular discard and unconditional damage sounds good.

I think your legs would love to have something like that, and depending on how much nicer you use them, it could turn into a booster box or something.

If you have a binder, put it in there maybe. At my LGS, I will occasionally see people trading MtG for Pokemon. You could sell it too, but you'll probably get more value from trading. The reason I say probably is because I don't know how your LGS works for buying.

I have a holo 1st edition Charizard that I found in my closet only recently too. There are bunch of pokemon players at my LGS that I have yet to try and sell it too, lol.

Be careful of tcgplayer, as it only fairly recently started having pokemon cards available. It also hasn't had a ton of vendors, so I would look on eBay at sold listings. I doubt you'll get 200, but it could still be something solid like 50. I have a Mew star, and I can never manage to find a price I like (shouldn't it be damn expensive? Maybe not because its a shit card other than being Mew)

Edit: okay it is pretty expensive for the one from a booster pack. Mine isn't mint but I could probably sell it for 50-75. :D

Nice! Yeah I've checked around and it seems that 200 is the low end for this card on sites like EBay. Thanks for looking out though.

Jeez I need to check this card out then. Must be nice to have a rare good card

Edit: yeah I'd say it's pretty good. Low energy cost move which is unavoidable, low retreat cost and card advantage. Not to mention its a basic. I have no idea what the pokemon meta is or how formats go though

If it' stat valuable a card and you ARE looking to sell it, then I think dealing with the internet might be worthwhile. It's completely up to you.

Also, I want to know what happened during the time period that made the card drop and then jump in price. Look at the graph on the linked page

If I had to take a guess it's probably because there has only been one listed at a time.

FAMOUSWATERMELON I don't play pokemon either but I can tell you that Shadowmage Infiltrator, packed with near unconditional damage and regular draw (better than discard) is a rather lackluster card.

I have absolutely 0 idea what, if any, the pokemon equivalent of Lightning Bolt is, but hey. Things aren't always as they seem.

February 4, 2016 11:12 p.m.

Serendipitous_Hummingbird Well if Shadowmage had one more toughness, he'd be fantastic in a number of decks :) I don't know, if I had to make that card into MTG, it would be some sort of creature version of LotV.

Serendipitous_Hummingbird, in order to win, the goal is to get all 6 of your prize cards (usually one per opponent pokemon you KO). You can't really print removal in such a game, other than bouncing to the bench or hand. And 70 hp is pretty good for a basic

FAMOUSWATERMELON

Yeah. Seriously. Shadowmage Infiltrator is one of those x/3 creatures that would kick ass with four toughness. Up there with Mantis Rider, Prophetic Flamespeaker, Master of the Wild Hunt, Sublime Archangel, and a few others.

There really aren't any 3 drops without excellent ETB triggers that are playable in modern with 3 or less toughness.

At 2 cmc you can justify value cards like Young Pyromancer and Dark Confidant. At 1cmc you get every dork printed.

But spending three mana just to eat a bolt is too much of a tempo swing.
