WIll there Ever Be a Voltron Feature Film?

The recent successes of films such as Pacific Rim and (hopefully) the new Power Rangers film have demonstrated the films with humongous mecha can be taken seriously and be profitable for film studios.

Therefore, I would very much like to see a Voltron feature film at some point in the future, as the Voltron franchise has now had four television series (the original series, which itself was adapted from a Japanese television series named Go Lion, Voltron: the Third Dimension, Voltron Force, and Voltron: Legendary Defender), but never a large-scale feature film.

I believe that now is the best time to make such a film, to join in on the success of Pacific Rim and Power Rangers, although I wonder if the film would be better as an all-CGI film, akin to the 2007 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, or a combination of live-action and CGI, akin to the new Power Rangers film. Another potential aspect that could add appeal to such a project is that Voltron is not solely a mecha franchise but also takes much inspiration from Star Trek and Star Wars, which are both very popular in the United States.

What does everyone else say about this? Would you like to see a Voltron feature film?

The mecha genre is not very good imo so I would not like a Voltron movie. Although maybe it would be better than the new Death Note movie lol

Homura_Akemi, I believe that Pacific Rim was a good movie (not great, but still good), so, if a potential Voltron film resembled it more than it resembled Michael Bay's Transformers series, I believe that it could be an excellent movie.

True. I mean, if a new movie is done right it could be great ;)
