Wizard or Jedi?

Simple question, would you rather be a wizard or a Jedi? Why?

Sith.

Sith.

Wizard. As a wizard, I'd have the ability to learn various disciplines of magic. A Jedi is more or less confined to the skillset of the force alone, which though wide, is not as all encompassing as all schools of wizardry.

Is both possible? Could I wield both a wand and a lightsaber? It would be pretty badass.

Blade-singer wizards are the best :)

Good night Jedi

As viberoblades prove a normal blade, if designed correctly, can repel a lightsaber

Add to that the magics and you can't touch them.

Sith. Their force is just way cooler and also being evil is badass. While wizards can learn many more disciplines kanokarob they would fall easily to a jedi/sith's blade in close range

I don't think that's a fact, Hjaltrohir. Wizards can still use close-range combat, either with actual weapons or various magics to confound, repel, dodge, or any other manner of verbs to defeat a force-user.

The force user has only his lightsaber, the senses bestowed to them by the Force, and the limited skills it grants them, compared to the wide array of techniques a master wizard could have learned or even invented in their lifetime. With effort and study, a wizard could even cut off the Jedi's access to the force. Or, they may simply charm themselves to be protected from force techniques and/or lightsabers.

But, whether any of that is true or not, the question wasn't which is superior, or would win in a fight. It was what we'd want to be, with our reasoning. Mine was simply that wizards can, in the long run, hone a wider variety of skills than Jedi, not that those skills are inherently better.

Wizard because you failed to define wizard and thus you leave it to the individual to define it for themselves...

Wizard. Then I can be a Wizard (of the Coast) and control Magic (the Gathering).

October 4, 2016 3:18 p.m.

Sith hands down.

I love how this discussion went from jedi or wizard to sith or wizard after the first comment. I would take the wizard option myself.

Wizard. Become powerful enough to gain immortality and/or become a deity. (No god complex here... 'whistles')

Depends. Do I have to deal with Vancian casting? If so, I'll stick with jedi/sith.

For those asking for clarification:

Choose one -

>You are a Wizard.
>You are a Jedi.

I mean there's always the Gandalf argument.

Death makes Jedi die but it just makes gandalf's brights brighter.

Ohthenoises Jedi can stick around as force ghosts though, which while not as convenient as being brought back with a new color scheme isn't an awful consolation prize.

I'm so thankful that nobody's saying "Jedis" as the plural.

Also: Wizard, no contest.

I don't know now that I have tried Star Wars Destiny. I tried a mill strategy with eRey after pulling Padme from one of my 6 packs and starter deck. It chafes that starter decks actually aren't. However, it was nice to open sealed product with other gamers and trade our way to our decks. It reminded me of my early days of MTG.

Has anyone else tried it? I'm liking it a lot! I'm not sure if I can give up MTG, though.

I declare false dichotomies false.
