Dirty Cheap Modern: $50-$100 Deckbuilding Challenge
Challenges and Articles forum

The purpose of this is to make decently competitive deck for between $50 and $100. This can provide newer players with great options for getting into magic.
Why a minimum of $50?
This is to ensure that at least some value is going into the deck, and it's not just 60 Islands, although that does seem pretty powerful.
Criteria:
-Deck must cost between $50-$100, no exceptions
-Has to have 60 cards mainboard, 15 card sideboard
That's about it. Have fun brewing. I will add all the decks to this folder unless they don't fit the criteria.
I'll start off with my favourite archetype; White Weenies.

I do this all the time for fun and to provide some pointers to new players. It's super easy to build semi-viable modern decks for under $100. I have a folder of them here
Simic delver with Quirion Dryad is my favourite, and for $100 you can easily get a full set of shocklands and a full set of Remand.
I would warn you to actually go to tcgplayer and then enter your list into the sites deck purchaser tool (so you dont have to search for all the cards one by one!). The prices quoted on tappedout are typically 10% higher than what you get if you actually go and buy the deck.

It's funny because most all of my decks actually fit that criteria or play at an even lower price. Interestingly it's already hard for me to even REACH that 50 $ value minimum, because most of my competitive stuff is below.
The Burn Deck has a solid middle of roughly 80 $

The deck is actually very competitive in what testing I have done with it.
Last time I checked, Main board can be had for $40, and the side adds about $30, though the side is still a WIP

Here's the mono-red shell I started my mardu burn deck with a couple months back. As of 11/5/2014, this deck is $98.67 @ TCGplayer mid price.

I've always loved Vampires in modern. You can make such a good deck for so cheap.

SCORE: 1 | 0 COMMENTS | 1 VIEWSI basically made an even cheaper version of my Bloodsuckers R Us! deck for even stingier budget players than I am. Eternal Thirst is missing from the calculation, but it's just a common, so I'd say this would roll out at around $30.50! :D

Been playing around with a budget deck that I might build, so why not submit it. It's about $75 on TCG player when you use the cart.

Also, how do you get that cool box around your deck? It looks so much nicer than just having the name.

Jayfeather: It's [deck-large:Deckname], obviously with double brackets as opposed to just the one.

Please have Dirt Cheap: in front of the name of your deck.
