Woohoo second! If only I had been able to play my whole league instead of just half.

Haha congrats on first place tooTimid. And I don't mind setting up the next league. Do we want another jank league or another competitive one?

I would rather do Jank because I entered Infect in Modern and it wasn't that fun, but now I have Vampires >:D
And I wanna play liek Mardu in Standard, but I'm down for either. I'll just play Utron in modern then and...something in standard.

xzzane, honestly I think you're talking a difference of inches. People will still play the deck they want to. That said, I think I'd rather call it competitive. It's easier to play jank decks in a competitive league than a competitive deck in a jank league and calling it competitive gives it some air of professionalism.

@Magicrafter You lost with Infect... Can confirm that you effed it up, son.
@xzzane Maybe we could try a Legacy league? That way, people can try to get into the format and those who play it already have something to enjoy.
As for competitiveness, I'd prefer it to be as competitive as possible.

lol I played two matches, one vs Grixis Twin the other I can't remember. Deck is boooring online.
Also, what's all this Legacy crap? I just got into modern! ;-;

GlistenerAgent, How many legacy players are active on tappedout? From my observations the community is mainly modern, standard, and commander. I could be wrong though. If there are enough people that are willing to play I'll put one together. I'd even be willing to run 3 tournaments at the same time so people can play what they want. Or is that too much do you think? And I'll have the tournaments be competitive then. Jank can still participate of course, they'll just be up against tier 1-2 decks.

How exactly does the league work? If it isn't horribly time-consuming, I may want in. Modern and Standard are my formats of preference if I decide to join.
July 29, 2015 2:18 p.m.
ABadMagicPlayer100, within a set amount of time (about a month and a half-2 months) you schedule games on your own time between players in your bracket. Untap.in is the most commonly used site to play the match, but that's up to the participants.
July 29, 2015 2:33 p.m.
Last league had brackets of 8-10 people I believe. So you would play 7-9 games.

Each bracket has 8-9 players, and ideally you play a best-of-3 match against each other player in your bracket. Few people actually play all of their matches, though.

Nope, sorry. I don't have the time. I haven't played a game of magic since I started working.
July 29, 2015 11:32 p.m.
Sorry to hear that femme. Are you happy working at least?

I enjoy the job, I don't enjoy the location. I'm spending 3-4 hours a day going to and from work.

I will not be running a third league at this time due to personal issues that I need to resolve.

Well I didn't exactly expect to get 2nd overall, that's neat. It is a shame however that 3 people dropped from bracket 1 but what can you do.
Maybe for the 3rd league something could be set up to attempt to make sure everyone competes? Or possibly a match schedule scenario for the round robin brackets? Just an idea.
With the schedule, a no show could be an auto forfeit or something similar. Obviously some amount of time would be needed in order to accommodate difference in time zones and busy schedules.

DreadnoughtMTG, we have already come up with a deterrent for people to not drop out.
