The Non-budget EDH Name Game is complete and the thread is done. Check it out if you wish.
We're halfway there everybody. Keep up the good work. Start thinking about some lands that we might need. We're at 56 cards with only 5 lands suggested, so keep that in mind.

I'm not really sure what to do at this point in the deck making process. From what I've counted, we came up 62 nonland cards and 11 land cards. Generally there should be around 35-38 lands, but I'm not sure if there are enough nonbasics that can be found based on the naming restrictions. How many lands should be in here? Should I just fill in what can't be found with basics? What does everyone think should happen now?

Mana base should probably be decided once all cards are chosen. Maybe not a part of the name game?. Or limit to utility lands? That way if you're building 5c and no one adds any white producing lands you're not just stuck with basics, you can have a properly crafted/balanced mana base. A good number 36, just over 1/3 of the deck.

But what about the lands already mentioned? Should I discredit those or should I just count the ones already mentioned and just add the lands on my own? It just seems a little weird that I counted some of the lands but not them all. It feels A little like it breaks the spirit of the game.

For this one you could include them as best you can up until this point. Then just fill in the rest and change the mission statement for the next one.

Even though it's not ideal, I've just added lands to fill up the rest of the deck. There's one spot open if anyone wants to fill in the last card.

Um was I supposed to do something that started with N?

Alright everybody, I think we have a deck. I gotta say, I think it turned out pretty sweet. It has a competitive side with a bunch of fun stuff throwned in there for a nice surprise. I feel like it sort of slowed down in the last half or so, but it's to be expected. I was sort of running out of ideas a bit to make it interesting and just went with some safe options, but in the end the deck building worked out.
If I were to do this sort of thing again, I would probably choose a color combination that doesn't have so many nonbasic possibilities. That way I could just use a bunch of basics instead of everyone naming everthing and making things a little complicated.
But yeah, I hope you enjoyed this. I really like how we came together to build something. Great job everyone.

We could do a mono-color next time SirFowler, that could be a fun challenge.
