Welcome!

Challenges and Articles forum

Posted on May 12, 2010, 10:45 p.m. by yeaGO

Hey guys,

This is a space to hash out discussion of the article and challenge section. I created the forums as a hope that we can keep only the best content in the Article and Challenge section.

I want to inspire a little more coordination in this department and so I have restricted Article/Challenge posting to three people: squire1 , KrazyCaley and myself.

So this forum kinda stagnated so I'm opening it up to anyone who wants to participate. You are free to post article drafts, begin discussion on new articles, or whatever you want! Welcome!

So we can post our articles here in this section. Cool. If I may ask, what if the articles warrents a push to the front page? for example, it gets encouraging feedback?

I have a few ideas for articles and will be emailing in near future regarding them. Even if its once every 2 weeks peer article? Should be interesting either way. :)

If the articles are right for the front page, which in the end is yeaGO!s decision, then one of us will help you edit it and get the formatting/look right and get it up there for you

Hypothetically, if I was a new member and unfamiliar with the way this site works, how would I go about getting an article posted/reviewed for posting?

Burning-Tree Emissary is amazing in anything you want to be remotely close to aggro.

Sietingz3 I don't know... It's weird, everyone seems to either think burning trees don't belon in anything but gruul, or they think that it shold be used in anything containing anything with red or green mana :)If I did, what do you think I should take out to make room, and how much of it? 4x or 3x?

improve the manabase before doing any changes...

October 24, 2013 12:58 a.m.

I ran 4 Burning-Tree Emissary s in a RW aggro deck before rotation, and they worked wonders. You should really include them.

Granted, I did have four Sacred Foundry , four Clifftop Retreat , and four Cavern of Souls for mana fixing...

vampirelazarus ive added 3 so far, if i were to add a fourth what do you think it should replace in my deck?

Seten don't forget vampire's second paragraph, to make your deck work how you want it to you'll need dual lands, aggro decks need them far more than any other archetype. As the deck stands it already has a low land count which makes getting the right lands anyway a more challenging problem (the low land count also is likely a problem with the 4-5 drops in your sideboard as well), throw in the fact that they're all basics and the problem of getting the right colors is even harder.

Seten I think you should up the land count, I'd go with -2 Truefire Paladin +2 land. You should also work on getting shocklands, as they would help a lot.

The reason for dropping the pally is due to the fact its a mana sink, its not a creature, and its not a burn spell. You want those in aggro. If you really like it, then I'd drop Legion's Initiative . Yes, it protects you from boardwipes, but it resets +1/+1 counters. That may not be very importatnt anymore, since we've no longer got Champion of the Parish .

But in aggro, from my experience, we don't need creatures with activated abilities, like Truefire Paladin .

Here's the deck I ran, keep in mind its no longer standard.

Ack! Humans!
