This challenge is for the Ancient Hellkite that soothly misses the good olde days of Magic, before the mischievous age of Miracles, Infect, and Annihilator.
First, let me congratulate Dritz for winning Ye Olde Deckbuilding Challenge #4 with his deck Old as Dirt.
For this challenge, we shall be using the first tribal-themed set, Fallen Empires.
What to do:
- Build up to two 60-card decks (Thou shalt not count to 61, nor to 59).
- With the exception of basic lands, use only cards from Fallen Empires.
- No Sideboard will be used.
Post your deck(s) here by Monday, May 27th, at which time I'll take all submissions and have a tournament to determine the superlative one. He or she who submits the champion deck will receive a +1 to each of his or her decks.
Banned List- for this weeks challenge, there is none.
Good luck and may the best antiquarian win.
P.S. If anyone wants me to ping them when I post a new challenge so you don't miss out, let me know.

Round 1 Results
sewellius's Goblinoid Empire vs. atreyujames's Fallen Empires- The Unseen Masses
G1: Goblinoid starts swinging early with Brassclaw Orcs , using burn to clear away blockers. Though Masses had trouble finding black mana early on, he eventually got enough to sustain a Breeding Pit to stall. Unfortunately more Orcs arrive and overwhelm the thrulls.
G2: Masses once again cant find much black mana early on, and also has trouble finding green creatures to block the Goblinoid onslaught. He tries to stall at the last second with Saprolings and Thrulls, but ends up falling to Brassclaw Orcs and Aeolipile s.
Goblinoid Empire wins 2-0
herob33t's The orc hold vs. Dritz's Hymns to Hands
G1: Hymn starts dropping Thrulls early and doesn't stop for a while. Hold hits a land pile and cant get enough creatures to stop the beating.
G2: Hold cant get enough bodies out early, and the thrull flood consumes him again.
Hymns to Hands wins 2-0
Dritz's There's A Fungus Amungus vs. Apoptosis's Rise of the Dark Empire
G1: A pair of Hymn to Tourach s hit almost every nonland card in Funguss opening hand, though mana problems for Dark allow him to catch up. Eventually Fungus gets out a triad of Feral Thallid s, whose regenerating prove too much for Dark to respond to.
G2: Both sides get off to a fast start. After a lot of fighting, Fungus has a bunch of Thalids with a lot of spore counters and Dark has a bunch of Derelor s. Though Darks creatures were bigger, he had to save them all to block thanks to Goblin War Drums . Eventually, Fungus makes a legion of Saprolings which, thanks to the War Drums, manage to get through for the kill.
There's A Fungus Amungus wins 2-0
Apoptosis's Deep Hymn vs. sewellius's Thrull Pit
G1: Pit gets a fast stert, and Hymn gets overrun by Thrulls before he can reanimate Deep Spawn .
G2: Pit again gets early thrulls, though a lack of Thrull Champion s keep the tokens harmless. Hymn reanimates Deep Spawn , but then the Thrull Champion s arrive and beat down all resistance.
Thrull Pit wins 2-0

Round 2 Results
sewellius's Goblinoid Empire vs. Dritz's Hymns to Hands
G1: Hymns has mana problems and cant answer the early Brassclaw Orcs until it takes a chunk out of his life total. Unfortunately, Hymns still cant find a blocker for the ensuing Orcish Veteran before it and Goblin Grenade end it.
G2: Aeolipile s and Dwarven Catapult kill all the dangerous creatures on the field. After a long stalemate, Hymns gets 2x Thrull Champion s and a bunch of Thrull tokens and proceeds to massacre Goblinoid.
G3: Thrulls swarm the field, quickly overwhelming Goblinoid.
Hymns to Hands wins 2-1
Dritz's There's A Fungus Amungus vs. sewellius's Thrull Pit
G1: A stalemate develops early, with a few big thrulls against a lot of Thalids and saprolings. Eventually Goblin War Drums arrives, allowing enough Saprolings to get through for the kill.
G2: An army of saprolings again overrun the thrulls, eliminating Pit from the tournament.
There's A Fungus Amungus wins 2-0

Final Result
Dritz's Hymns to Hands vs. Dritz's There's A Fungus Amungus
G1: Hymns cant get swamp #3, leaving him unable to play creatures and exposed to Funguss attacks. Fungus gets a great deal of Thallids out and overruns Hymns quickly.
G2: This time, Hymns gets plenty of mana, but not many thrulls to block. Eventually he gets out a single Ebon Praetor , but it dies blocking a pumped up Thallid Devourer . Unable to draw anything but Thrull Retainer and Soul Exchange , Hymns submits.
There's A Fungus Amungus wins 2-0
Congratulations Dritz, you are the winner of Ye olde Deckbuilding Challenge #4!
Thank you to everyone who participated. I hope you will all take part in the next challenge and I wish you the best of luck if you do.

Just fallen empires and no other cards from that era? Ok, that's going to be tough, the set was pretty small. But, game on!
