Hi all, ever since Night of the Sweets' Revenge dropped I have wanted to build a food-themed commander deck, but didn't like the way that any of the commanders who interact explicitly with food play. It doesn't help that we're currently in a place where "food tribal" as an idea doesn't quite get you to a 100 card deck.
My current take on this is Korvold, Food-Cursed, trying to build a $50 deck that is primarily around food sacrifice but also takes advantage of other sacrifice as well.
I would love suggestions on places where cards aren't offering much value, or cards that you think would add a lot of value without increasing the deck's budget too much. Even if you don't have specific suggestions, general thoughts about it would be appreciated as well!

If the intention is to expand your selection of cards out by one standard deviation, I would be inclined to start picking out cards that involve eating. Tons of giants and trolls and whatnot to pick from there!

The one glaring omission I see is Tireless Provisioner. That said, I do think there are a couple areas this deck could improve within budget: manabase and long game.
I think a couple of your artifacts are slow or lower-impact; Horned Helm in particular seems like it is not doing enough. I would consider cutting this card and potentially Welcome to Sweettooth or Giant's Skewer for card that recur your resources, something like Palace Siege or Oversold Cemetery or The War in Heaven.
For manabase, in particular I am looking at the fact that you have 1) a ton of lands that enter the battlefield tapped all the time, and 2) only 4 other Forests for your Gingerbread Cabin. I would suggest cutting Cinder Barrens, Foul Orchard, Jund Panorama, Akoum Refuge, Gruul Guildgate, and Golgari Guildgate for Many Partings, Cinder Glade, Sheltered Thicket, Woodland Chasm, Smoldering Marsh, and Rockfall Vale. A lot of these dual lands are cheaper right now due to the Doctor Who commander deck release, so you can pick most of them up for <$1 each.
Best of luck to you!

Thank you so much! Tireless provisioner is one I cut for price reasons but you're right that she brings enough value to add back in. Horned helm I really love as an on the field threat that I can give something trample at instant speed, and giant's skewer I like as recurring food tokens most turns. Oversold cemetery feels like an amazing inclusion and I'm happy cutting welcome to sweet tooth for it I'll definitely make some of those land swaps, but still do want to try to keep the price down.

When it comes to sacrifice in black, I always want to remind people about Infernal Tribute. They still haven’t reprinted it, so it’s not cheap, but it’s pretty nice to have on board. You can’t sac a token to it, so it wouldn’t help with food specifically, but it’s a good one to keep in mind.
