How Can I Put Circle of Flame into My Gisela Deck?

Commander Deck Help forum

I am contemplating putting a copy of Circle of Flame into my Gisela, Blade of Goldnight EDH deck, but I am not certain what card I should remove to make room for it, if I should even put that card intro that deck.

Marshal's Anthem requires a significant investment of mana in order to produce a desirable result, so it is one candidate for replacement; Powerstone Minefield is a more powerful and riskier version of CoF, but Gisela shall ensure that it hurts my opponents more than it hurts me; and Gleam of Battle is rather expensive, in terms of mana, but its ability is undeniably useful, and Staff of Compleation can place additional +1/+1 counters on my creatures.

What does everyone else say, about my question? What card should I remove to make room for Circle of Flame in my Gisela deck, or do I not need to put it, there? I certainly would appreciate any advice that you may have to offer.

I love enchantments and always want to use things like Circle of Flame. I would swap it in to replace Gleam of Battle, based on my ill-advised prioritization of controlling the board with Lightmine Field type effects over actually winning.

FormOverFunction, that is definitely an excellent suggestion, but I would like to receive responses from several more users, before I make my final decision, on this matter.

I would play Caltrops over circle.

Bookrook, that is an interesting suggestion, as Gisela would prevent the damage that that artifact would deal to my own creatures, but we still have not reached a conclusion about which card I should remove, to make room for a new card, or if I even need to put that card into this deck.

Archangel of thrune is very clunky, especially for its $cost

Bookrook, I am very fond of Archangel of Thune, since this deck has plenty of methods of gaining life, to trigger her ability.

Cathars crusade is better

Bookrook, why do you believe that?

Also, this deck has only a minimal amount of token generation, but plenty of lifegain, so I believe that the crusade is better in decks that generate plenty of tokens, which I do have.

I’m just looking at the cards that I would take out. If you want to keep the archangel, I could take out the vedalken orrey, the gleam of battle, the searing meditation, or the outlaws merriment.
