My deck feels wrong

Ahoy,

I tried to hang with a few friends and play a more competittive version of edh and my friend tossed me his First Sliver deck The semi-competitive Hive and it just felt wrong to play. His wincons kept getting into my Cascade triggers. The deck also felt a bit slow (I can't afford 0cmc rocks) but I was wondering if my mana base was wrong.

Should I keep the wincons and change the general and the core of the deck or should I change to different wincons ?

Can anyone help ?

I run Hivelord as my commander, and load up on boardwipes. My wincon is usually just an overwhelming tide of indestructable slivers
