Purphoros for casual play
Commander Deck Help forum

So a group of friends and I play commander casually at lunch everyday, but we only have an hour for lunch and there's about 5-6 people playing everyday. As most of you know, 3 players can take 1-1 1/2 hours alone. So we never get through a full game. I want to change that. I'm looking to build purphoros for a much faster game. Either I'll win because nobody can stop me or everyone will be quick to kill me, resulting in one mutual target, thus faster turns. Here's my dilemma. I don't have an efficient list for purphoros. Anybody got suggestions for some cards? Price doesn't matter. I'm gonna proxy it anyway. Thanks for any help in advance!

Purphy is good, run cards like Goblin Offensive, Dragon Fodder, Orochi Hatchery, and Dictate of the Twin Gods.
Secret Tech Show
Generally speaking you just want to spit creatures out, so anything that gives an extra creature or two is good.

Firecat Blitz is for the win. Krenko, Mob Boss is also really good.

Genesis Chamber + Norin the Wary with purphy out is gg usually. Impact Tremors increases his effectiveness by 50%. Just chuck it full of token spells and go to town. I have a purphy deck and it can go off winning against higher budget/tuned decks like Mizzix. Trick is to get Purph out ASAP so I run quite a few artifact ramp. You also want to try to keep him an indestructible enchantment rather then a creature by keeping your devotion down- much harder to deal with this way. Believe me, they WANT to deal with him...

I second heartless hidetsugu. Super fun to play and leads to quick games. You might not win every game, but you will always have played an integral part.

rooroothepirate: while i love me some Heartless Hidetsugu I think the OP has his or her mind set on Purphoros. Purphoros is in the long run better, more resilient than HH simply for the chump blockers and or swarm should Purph get locked out. Don't get me wrong I also run a Heartless deck (Heartless Cake Recipe) and he is a ton of fun but a delayed Heartless, or a Heartless without haste is generally gg

If you want to speed up games, I'd recommend Heartless Hidetsugu you don't need a streamlined deck for him to work allowing you to build it any way you want to kind of...
