Should I Replace Arcane Signet with a Mana Dork?

I have a copy of Arcane Signet in nearly all of my EDH decks, but several of my EDH decks, most notably my Chulane deck and my Ghired deck, have a strong emphasis on creatures, so I am contemplating replacing the signet in those decks with a mana dork (i.e., a creature that generates mana), most likely Birds of Paradise, but I would like to ask everyone else here for advice on that subject.
What does everyone else say about this? Should I replace Arcane Signet in some of my EDH decks with a mana dork?

I would strongly advise against this, only because your dork is a lot easier to remove from the battlefield than a rock.
One wrath sets you back a lot of turns, if you rely on mana sources that aren't lands.

For Chulane in particular, a 1-mana dork is significantly better than almost any rock. I wouldn't necessarily cut arcane signet looking at the deck. I would probably cut Thought Vessel, Decanter of Endless Water, and Commander's Sphere all before Arcane Signet.

I'd say to try out the replacement with another Dork, or synergistic ramp piece in Green. When I play Green, I barely run any rocks, when I have access to Farseek & similar pieces.
In Enchantress decks I've played, I'll always play Dorks or Auras like Utopia Sprawl, which will get that much more value in the context of a strategy that will benefit from it.
