Too slow for aggro, too shallow for mid range: how to fix Perrie the Pulverizer

Commander Deck Help forum

So I have hit a brick wall when it comes to fine tuning this Perrie deck.

The win con is that of a aggro beat down, but the conditions to meet it make the deck far too slow for aggro. But if I take turns to set up even the lowest of PL 1 decks could make a wide or tall enough board to not break through.

Furthermore the commander has Atraxa levels of "kill on sight", and typically people will save their removal for it, and the deck can't really recover its pieces well.

It also has way too many common work arounds in the form of Torpor Orb and Solemnity.

But before I put this deck in the trash, I figured I'd come by and see if there's anything I'm very obviously missing from this deck.

I'd cut 2-3 lands for ramp such as Rampant Growth and Cultivate.

Find room for Simic Ascendancy. Growth counters and a Mana sink will help even if you don't hit the win-con often.

I'm already -2 the recommended number of lands. I could probably cut Lavaspur Boots and maybe Keensight Mentor. Any other fat I can trim off?

First things first, love the name :D

Looking at your list, it feels as if you're really short on both ramp and removal. Your commander provides neither by itself, and without counting through every single card, this is something that might improve your problems. Maybe try to sort the deck into custom categories for better overview? I usually try to have roughly 10 pieces each of card draw, ramp and interaction, plus three or four board wipes. The more of these fit your strategy, the better, but you are in prime colors for all three categories.
