Which Card Should Replace Mortality Spear?

Commander Deck Help forum

I have a copy of Mortality Spear in my Kresh the Bloodbraided EDH deck, but the only methods for gaining life that that deck contains are Ravenous Squirrel and Vein Ripper, so I believe that it would be best to replace that card, and I would like to ask for advice on what card I should put into the deck.

I was considering Unleash the Inferno, since that is an interesting card, but it is too limited in what it can destroy; I considered Riveteers Charm, but one of that card's modes is the same as Jund Charm, so I have now narrowed my decision to Tear Asunder, which is strictly better than Naturalize, Cankerbloom, or Insidious Fungus, the latter two of which are nice, because they work with the deck's theme of profiting from creature dying, although one concern with that is that this deck does not have a sufficiently strong emphasis on recursion and/or reanimating creatures, so I need to ensure that I can reliably reuse those creatures.

What does everyone else say about this? Which card should replace Mortality Spear in my Kresh deck?

If you're looking for strictly better removal--Assassin's Trophy. More draw will also help you find everything; adding "more" to everything.

Goldberserkerdragon, I already have that card in every deck that contains those colors, since it is such an amazing card.

Word, then add more draw to find it. I would play the "everyone sac" stuff like Innocent Blood and the Fleshbag Marauders of the world. I see you have 38 land, not sure if you are doing landfall (didn't see anything) but definitely could cut some as a 100 card deck only needs about a third of its mana being land-based (about 30-33). Run optimal draw as well as turning those lands into ramp. But for sure i would swap targeted removal for more mass sacrifice shenans for a deck trying to pump the commander in this way. Cheers!

Goldberserkerdragon, I definitely have several mass destruction spells in this deck, so I am not worried about that, and, regarding lands, I would prefer to err on the side of caution, and I do have several mana sinks in this deck, if I ever have an abundance of mana and too few spells to cast, with it.

Didn't you just ask this question a few days ago?
