Best third color for 3 color Enchantress?

Commander (EDH) forum

Obviously, White and Green are the primary colors, but I wanted to make 3 color enchantress. Would you go with Bant, Naya or Abzan, and why? I would like to set aside discussions of best enchantress commander and really focus on what the tertiary color brings to the table. Red is my favorite color, and has a lot of great stax and utility, but feels like the weakest of the three. The consistent card draw and protection blue brings is very strong, but black has some of my favorite hate pieces and I want to finally put Lethal Vapors in a deck, which makes me think I have a bias. Also, I think black got a lot of good enchantress support with the Daxos precon.

Also, worth noting, En-Bant-ress is a better pun than Abzan-chantress

Bant and Esper are traditionally the strongest combinations in EDH.

Naya decks focus on green. Bant decks focus on white. Abzan decks focus on black.

I'd like to see temur enchantment deck. You could use Intet, the Dreamer or Maelstrom Wanderer as your CMDR that would be cool

chaus12 The plan was to focus on green/white regardless of which shard/wedge, since they have all the enchantresses. I'm definitely not going to go Esper as no green seems like a deal breaker for enchantress.

griffstick Temur enchantments sounds dope, but I'm pretty bad at deckbuilding and would prefer to stay in Selesnya+ colors.

SteelSentry, the point was that Bant is a strong deck (with a good pun), and you probably don't want Abzan as green/white would be secondary.

RED OF COURSE!
AND AS LITTLE WHITE AS POSSIBLE, HAR HAR!

WHY? ALL THE MANA AND ALL THE CREATURES! PLUS YOU CAN TOTALLY MESS WITH THE BLUE MAGES!

I think it is going to depend on how you plan on winning. All of them are good options for a third color but if you plan on winning with commander damage your best option is naya since Uril, the Miststalker is a thing. If you are looking more to lock everyone out and poke away at them slowly black has some devastatingly hateful enchantments. It is an enchantress deck so you don't need blues draw power but blue also has some nice prison effects. I guess all three options have Starfield of Nyx so you should run that. Any thoughts on what you want the deck to really do? Enchantress theme is a good start but I really like to have some good ideas about how I want to win and what I do between winning and game start before I build, personally.

Here are some of what I think would be noteworthy cards:

Archetype of Finality, Bloodchief Ascension, Dictate of Erebos, Doomwake Giant, Painful Quandary

Enchanted Evening, Finest Hour, Supreme Verdict, Copy Enchantment, Hanna, Ship's Navigator

Xenagos, God of Revels, Iroas, God of Victory, Sulfuric Vortex, Dictate of the Twin Gods, Price of Glory

I run WB enchantments and I gotta say, B works out great in those colors. I vote Abzan honestly, especially considering some of the really strong effects for enchantments like Doomwake Giant, and enchantments like Debtors' Knell, Lethal Vapors, Dictate of Erebos and Deadbridge Chant.

You could go four color. Honestly four color enchantress with Thrasios, Triton Hero+Tymna the Weaver could be really powerful as a deck.

Personally, I think . It may seem like a copout, but I think you have all the answers, draws, etc. you'll need in your colors if youre Selesnya. Adding a color wont actually make the deck better, as illustrated by the lack of any blue, red, or black cards on the pages of Selesnya enchantment subtheme cards.

Or do enchantress with Atraxa, Praetors' Voice and focus on a lot of enchantments that use counters too.

MagicalHacker I thought about that for a while, and I might end up doing that. My main issue is twofold: 1) there's already a Selvala, Explorer Returned enchantress deck in my play group. 2) I like taking existing archetypes and putting a spin on them. I don't like the feeling of showing up, people looking at my commander/first few turns and saying "oh, it's another Karametra enchantress deck". It's the same reason why my Goblin deck is Grenzo, Havoc Raiser, even though literally everyone I meet asking me why I don't run Krenko.

Ah makes sense. I did something similar with my gruul enchantress deck, but since it's themed around enchantments like Blood Moon, adding a third color would not be a good plan.

G/W doesn't necessarily have to be secondary in an Abzan list. Play Selesnya and splash B for cool enchantments and constellation payoffs. I'd personally go with Abzan, because it gives you access to things like Daxos the Returned and Phyrexian Arena.

I second/third/fourth black for all the hate enchantments you can use. I'd also recommend Anafenza, the Foremost at helm because of her nice hate effect. Anyways, I think choosing the commander at helm is a whole different can of worms, best of luck!

You wanna go Global Enchantments Enchantress or Aura Enchantress? For auras, your best option is Naya and Uril, the Miststalker. For non-Aura enchantments, probably black is better but you don't have a commander focused on enchantments.

Maybe Teneb, the Harvester and reanimator enchantments could be an interesting take.

SteelSentry actually, Grenzo is still a pretty damn good goblin Commander, since you'll have a way to basically exile opponents entire decks that way. I'd rather run him instead of Krenko too.

I didn't really want to do aura voltron (I don't like voltron). If I don't just decide to do Selesnya, I will likely do Abzan. I was thinking of like a Gahiji, Honored One group slug, but I already have a group slug deck. Between Bant goodstuff and Abzan hate, I like the hate deck more.
