Cascading Merfolk

I started a Temur (G/R/U) Merfolk Deck with Cascade elements but there was so little cascade that it wasn't worth adding. So I thought that I would either scrap the idea or adding a forth color, and I didn't want to scrape the idea because i really like it, so i added black and made Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder my commander. While it has more cascade elements, it is now over all less competitive than I would like. So if any one has any ideas to make this more competitive please let me know. (Ik 4 and 5 color deck are more casual than competitive (Minus some deck builds) but im trying get it as competitive as possiable without going over my budget) My Budget is is no more than $1100 but but less would be better.

Actual with the Advent of partners and more and more 5c legends, more colors are more competitive than fewer colors (access to more card with almost no downside). As a general rule though tribal decks tend to not be all that competitive.

Splash white for Maelstrom Nexus and Maelstrom Archangel

power level is an ambiguous term in commander. Just try to match the power level of your play group as much as possible

Tribal decks are for fun, not to be competitive. There are a few exceptions but those tend to be combo like slivers. As for merfolk, bant is prob the best 3c combination for them, or morphling is good option so you got access to all the the merfolk + anything that works with em.

EDIT: Just don't plan on winning with combat damage, you might get some island walk kills, but for the most part, you creative ways to win.
