Dimir Tevesh

Hey,

I want to make a Dimir Tevesh partner deck. But I'm really struggling with a direction. I know Aristocrats is a very obvious direction to take Tevesh in, but I have a Korvold deck and I'm concerned about making a Dimir version of exactly the same thing. I thought about doing a Pillowfort deck w/ Esior, but Dimir struggles with Pillowfort and protecting planeswalkers.

I also thought of combining Tevesh and Nadir Kraken for some card draw/token interactions.

I also thought of proliferate w/ Sakashima and Thrummingbird.

I could use some guidance around this topic!! Do the last two ideas work together? A token generator Dimir deck that I Sakashima's Will everything into Thrummingbirds and proliferate into a Tevesh ult?

Thanks in advance!

You would need a very tutor-heavy deck to get the Bird every game, and to do that you'd probably want to be in BG. But to make sure you can even RUN the bird, and also Sakashima's Will, you'd need to be in BUG. I'd personally suggest Thrasios, Triton Hero if you were to go for that particular strategy.

Silas Renn, Seeker Adept could make an interesting artifact creature aristocrats deck, making it a bit different from your Korvold deeck.

Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator same kind of idea, also will help ramp into your 5 drop commander.

The only other partner that would give you blue and seems decent with Tevesh is Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix, which puts you into green as well but her ramping synergizes with Tevesh drawing cards a bit.

Well, I'm working on a Golgari Tevesh Szat deck, myself, so I have some thoughts. I really don't think you can completely avoid aristocrats. Maybe this idea is just dumb, but why not try a Dimir flying deck with Siani, Eye of the Storm. It works with your Thrummingbird idea.

Oh I like this discourse!

Omniscience_is_life I kind of have an avoidance of Thrasios on principle (Simic mana sinks? Groundbreaking.) But I see merit in your suggestion of going Sultai. I am concerned about diluting the point with green, but RazortoothMtg's suggestion of Kydele is something I've considered as there is definitely synergy there. I also thought about Malcolm and possibly going for a pirate-tribal in Dimir, or even Grixis-theft (although I tried building one and I was not pleased with the process).

1empyrean I definitely thought about Siani but taking a hard look at Thrummingbird happened after I dismissed using the djinn, so I may have to go back and examine that.

Adding green takes care of some of the inherent ramp issues with Tevesh though, so that's definitely something to consider.

3-color is likely to be stronger, no matter who you pick. Only reason to go 2 color is if you have a specific pairing in mind.
