dimir zombie token engines

I have a modified Wilhelt deck and it doesn't produce tokens very quickly. I'd like to make it go off and really spit them out. I'm curious what kind of cards would create synergy in Blue/Black to get a token engine running. What do you use that has been successful?

There are some curse enchantments that can help spew out tokens: Curse of Disturbance, Curse of Shallow Graves, and Curse of the Restless Dead. Each one depends on something specific, either attacking the cursed player or the cursed player dropping lands, but it’s easy enough to get it going.

Gravecrawler + Diregraf Colossus + Phyrexian Altar/really any sac outlet = Zombie tokens aplenty as well as lots of sac/etb triggers to play with.
Additionally, the newer Necroduality can help you get lots of copies of your zombies as you play them.

There's a lot of zombie staples, but I also almost forgot Endless Ranks of the Dead is another powerful tool.

This is my own Wilhelt list if you want to take a look. I haven't streamlined the presentation or anything to show the combos etc, but maybe it can give some ideas.

Really appreciate the replies and suggestions. I have several of the mentioned token generators in my build already. Here’s my Wilhelt deck:
What I’m really trying to find are the multi-piece steps like: .
1. Attach blade of selves to wilhelt. .
2. Attack causing 3 token wilhelts to enter and immediately die to the legend rule. .
3. This creates 3 decayed zombies and since 3 zombies died and you had this other card out you…
What are those engines and how do you set them up?

I think if you’re focusing on a strategy involving artifact equipment like that, it’s essential for you to have ways of tutoring up the pieces that you want. Fabricate or Trophy Mage are great budget options for finding swords, or if you have the money, Tezzeret the Seeker is always a fun planeswalker ally.
Also if you’re going with swords, considering slapping a Sword of Body and Mind onto Undead Alchemist and turn a mill strategy into instant token generation!

I feel like there is an underlying issue here because as you said you have a lot of the suggested cards so you should be able to generate quite a few tokens already.
Regardless here are some synergies to look out for. Massacar's infinite loop paired with a good chunk of cards in your deck will give you a win so I won't bother with the potential infinite combos as that is self explanatory (Gravecrawler + Phyrexian Altar = Infinite Etb, Cast, and Death Triggers)
Ghoulcaller Gisa + Headless Rider or Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver: Any creature you sacrifice will generate an additional zombie token. If both are in play even better.
Crowded Crypt + Ashnod's Altar/Phyrexian Altar + Headless Rider or Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver: At the end of your opponent's endstep sacrifice your nontoken zombies to either altar assuming you have enough creatures to generate . Each creature you sacrificed will net you a 2/2 zombie from wilhelt or headless rider. Activate Crowded Crypt using the mana you obtained from sacrificing your creature's which will basically double the amount of tokens you have. So assuming you had six zombies in play at the end you will have twelve 2/2 zombies.
Tormod, the Desecrator + Gravecrawler + Ghoulcaller Gisa: Will net you three zombies a turn (Even more with lords in play or Headless Rider/Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver).
Necromancer's Stockpile + Bone Miser: Each creature you discard will net you two zombie tokens. Hopefully you draw into Zombie Apocalypse to get them all back.
Fleshbag Marauder Equipped with Blade of Selves + Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver: Assuming you have three opponents when each Felshbag Marauder token enters the battlefield they can sacrifice themselves to their own etb. This nets you three 2/2 zombies with decay and your opponents must sacrifice three creatures.
Some sac-outlets to consider:
Some Recursion:
Some Card Draw:
These are just a few affects to give you an idea on what to look for.

Thanks for taking the time to write that up Necrosis24. That’s exactly what I’m looking for. My current build makes decent tokens now. I want more ways to do it so I can find the most efficient way(s) to flood the field.
I played a random dude at my lgs when the undead unleashed precon first dropped and he was making a bananas amount of zombos each turn. I can’t remember what his system was and have been trying to replicate it since September.

Btw, love the idea of attaching Blade of Selves to Fleshbag Marauder. That would work well with gray merchant as well.

I believe, you should convert into Varina, Lich Queen instead while keeping the strategy the same. White can give you a token doubler in the form of Anointed Procession, not to mention better removals.
