EDH card swap outs

This is just something that has piqued my interest while building my Akiri and Bruse deck with the original plan to make it full of Stax pieces and hate cards. Essentially after 2 games my local group disliked the way the deck played so I had decided to buy a set of the same selves and sleve up more Voltron pieces and swap them out with the Stax ones in the deck and it was almost like playing an entirely new deck.

What I am curious about is if other people do this sort of thing since I think it was a very fun experience for myself and I can now quickly swap out from aggressive Stax strategy to a more tame Voltron one when playing that particular deck. It sort of gives a new spin since and I can surely imagine doing the same for other decks to make them 'weaker' if a group had lower power decks.

I see this kind of thing more commonly when players only own one copy of a card and want to swap it between decks, which is kind of what you're doing in a roundabout way (effectively having two lists).

I think that (assuming you're not doing this between rounds in a tournament) this is a good way to deal with playing across multiple play groups of different power levels/expectations of the game, especially when you don't want to devote/don't own multiple copies of card to allow building two whole decks.

On my YouTube channel, my goal is to show off how powerful decks built with underplayed commanders can be! So, I've not yet built a deck with two different 99s, because there are too many awesome commanders to showcase to do that sort of thing.

That said, I happened to build a deck with the same commander as one I built a long time ago with a vastly different 99. I went with Teneb, the Harvester , and while my paper deck I built years ago went with reanimating big creatures (like the three praetors in Abzan), I found that such a deck really needs red so I ended up moving it into Jund helmed by Xira Arien . However, last month, I wanted to build an Abzan deck, and the strategy I wanted definitely wanted Teneb as the commander: indestructible creatures.

So, I could technically play indestructible creatures Teneb or reanimator Teneb, but I don't think I'd ever go to the reanimator version of my own accord.

I was thinking about doing the same thing with my Xantcha deck!
