Finally a commander for Allies!

Thoughts about her? Personally I'm a little underwhelmed, but time will tell.
First of all, that's a she. And this is everything you could hope for in a tribal commander. She tutors on ETB, which is readily abusable, pumps most relevant creatures, and is 5 colors. Don't forget that 5 mana in multiplayer EDH is very easy to get to, so she is costed quite fairly.
I'm never going to use her, but she is definitely a very powerful commander for Allies.

Yay for progressive gender roles in Magic cards!
Also, this is awesome.deck waiting to happen. I feel like you could have the Harabaz Druid combo in here + lots of huge dudes (no eldrazi, for flavor reasons), and just be the best around

Lots of allies and just buff for winz

Magic has always been inclusive and good about representation. Least as far as I know.

Well, I've basically ordered every Ally known to man to build Tazri. I'm probably not going to look at others' builds until I have a build of my own. I'd like to see what I come up with first.

I approve of this commander. It fills a nice role in Ally decks and gives them an actual commander.

Am I the only one who finds allies to be incredibly lackluster even at casual levels of play? You guys all seem so gung-ho about this commander...

Yeah because- once again- it's Wizards acknowledging us as a user base. We wanted a dual-colored Snake commander. Bam, Kaseto, Orochi Archmage. We wanted a 5-color Ally Commander. Bam, Tazri. This is more a significant moment spiritu-Ally (pun completely intended) than a physical one.
That being said, brb brewing. :D

TheDevicer It's not like ninety-percent of them aren't dirt cheap, and the ones that do cost a few bucks are pretty consistent.

Ok, so I need an EDH Rules guru.
I heard that Tazri can be built in different color combinations as long as she's white, which gives us:
Bant, Abzan, Jeskai, Naya, Esper, Mardu, Boros, Orzhov, Selesnya, Azorius, All Nephilim colors (except Glint-Eye Nephilim), and Rainbow.
Can anyone confirm or deconfirm this?

Phaetion yup, she's the type O- blood type of edh. You could even make her deck only colorless if your heart desires...
TheDevicer. I agree with you. She's very cute for the casual crowd. Allies have always been significantly weaker than slivers, as they were designed to be. Btw, I've seen a few of your posts lately and we see eye to eye on Edh, I'd love to run some thoughts by you some time

Well, I think this new commander is fun for casual commander damage. If you use this commander though, the entire focus of your deck is obvious.

As commanders go, I think Tazri is rather powerful... I mean she tutors and pumps, and while allies I think arn't the most powerful tribe as tribes go, I think the commander might make up for that.

Phaetion let me do damage control. rockleemyhero is incorrect. She is only playable in 5 colour decks. She is not playable In 
, 
or any combination other than 5 colour.
Edit: Technically you can play those deck colours with her as the general, while ignoring colours, but her identity is still

Then I guess it's best to wait until there's official word on Tazri then. Either she only belongs in one deck, or 17 of them.

I like tutors. And it's a relevant one to boot. I guess I'm building 5c allies and not Karador allies.
