Hi all, sorry if this is the wrong forum.
So I am an experienced magic player, who loves EDH. I would like to build another deck, but unfortunately I have no inspiration. That's where you come in!
- I currently run Atraxa superfriends (so a deck that is very different in play style/card choice would be welcome)
- I would like the deck to be URx but Im not sure which commander or strategy to go for
- I would like to have a controlly/creature-based deck, maybe with flash or etb trigger (Panharmonicon style) shenanigans
- I want the deck to be fun and competitive but not super cut-throat, budget isn't an issue
Well, thats all I can think of, please inspire me! Links to example decklists would be great :)

Marchesa, the Black Rose is a good choice for abusing etb effects and the like. Check out The Bitter Taste of Sweet Decay

So according to edhrec.com, the number of choices you have is approximately....
A lot. Something that comes to mind is Riku of Two Reflections who can double etbs and double control spells, but is there anything else? Like do you want it to only be two or three colored?

Game of Thorns is another Marchesa list running around here.
Nekusar offers a controlly, creature based deck. Mine is Nekusar's Craze.
Animar, Riku & Nin also come to mind.
I think the best suggestion though, is for you to read all the legendaries in the colors you're thinking. Find one that sticks to you, that you're terrified of building because of how fun it might be. That's where you'll have the inspiration.

I agree that Marchesa, the Black Rose and Riku of Two Reflections are both very strong creature based strategies that support the Panharmonicon shenanigans you might be looking for. I would check out EDHREC and see which one interests you most.
Personally, I prefer Marchesa. With Marchesa, you can run things like Sneak Attack, Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, Fleshbag Marauder, Snapcaster Mage, and all sorts of other control-creature styled cards.

Thank you everyone (TheDevicer, Schuesseled, MagicalHacker, Karns_Pyromancer and Octrate)
You have been a great help in deciding my new deck, I used to have a janky Marchesa, the Black Rose deck, and I think it is time to rebuild it. I might also dabble with Ydris, Maelstrom Wielder.
Riku of Two Reflections was a definite consideration, but I just feel no excitement thinking about him, so I think he's a no for now.
Thank you again everyone!

I'd recommend using modular creatures in your new deck. My deck is performing sooooo much better with them.
All really cheap as well other than Arcbound Ravager

Jhoira of the Ghitu is both high power while not overwhelming, as your opponents can see what's coming for them way in advance.

If you want value ETB's or the like, you could do Animar or Maelstrom Wanderer. Insteado f using their standard shells, you could invest in more controlling cards.
