Is there a way to get around Mindslicer's discard effect without resorting to card draw?

I'm working on creating a mono-black edh discard deck, but I don't want to invest heavily in card draw, since discard and removal are the main themes, and I don't want to spread my deck too thin.

You could also run something like Geth's Grimoire and draw lots of cards after everyone loses their hand.

Madness and Hellbent are the first mechanics that come to mind (Gibbering Descent). There Aren't very many good hellbent cards in mono , but since it's a rakdos mechanic maybe there are more in rakdos colors(?)
Rakdos's Return is amazing, also Mind Twist
In reference your comments about not wanting to include too much draw, my playgroup has a saying: "he who draws the most, wins the most"

I feel that lemmingllama has the best solution, just using Geth's Grimoire to draw your hand back plus more after Mindslicer dies. Also, if it's a mono-black deck, you should include Mind Sludge.

Or just have cards you can play out of your graveyard, and reanimation effects.

Thanks, everyone. Geth's Grimoire seems particularly effective.

Library of Leng could help keep the card advantage. Then you could run a bunch of other global discard with impunity.

Sorry if this is a necro.
It's really too bad you aren't splashing red. Ignorant Bliss seems to be the most elegant solution.
Bottled Cloister could work if you are using a sac engine to mindslice during your opponent's turn.
Otherwise Gustha's Scepter or Ice Cauldron can help you save individual combo pieces that you'd rather not discard.
Skeletal Scrying is a simple way to get a new hand if you are willing to compromise the card draw.
Memory Jar could also be interesting, though it gives your opponents a temporary hand full of answers

You won't be able to get the effect apply only to your opponents and not to yourself, if that's what you're asking. You can counter the ability, but then, none of it's effects will occur, obviously.
Aternative solutions would be already having zero cards in hand, cards like Sea Gate Wreckage, using Madness cards such as Call to the Netherworld, and cards that return cards from your graveyard to hand.
