Im building a sliver tribal deck, and I'm wondering if Jegantha, the Wellspring as a companion is worth sacrificing cards such as Pulmonic Sliver, Wild Pair and Patriarch's Bidding
The problem with Jegantha is that it does next to nothing. It is the worst companion of the bunch because the payoff and the restriction are way too imbalanced. If you get to those 5 mana, you are better off casting Hivelord/Queen/Overlord/Legion/The first sliver.
You also lose access to Kindred Charge, Kindred Summons, Kindred Dominance, Kindred Discovery and Kindred Boon, as well as Molten Echoes, Species Specialist...

Pita plumonic sliver is a solid card. It gives stuff flying and is removal protection

shadow63: i know what the card does. i read it. it doesn't "protect" from removal, it simply lets you re-play the creature later at the cost of not drawing anything new your next turn. i have better ways to grant evasion and recover from removal than spending 5 mana on a 3/3. no offense to you if you like it, but i do not.

I don't think that dropping Patriarch's Bidding is worth Jegantha's mana.

Pita yeah it sends it back on top but is your opponent gonna waste their kill spell on a silver when you can just send it back to the top of your deck?

It's a cool sliver, but if a player has a dedicated way of killing something they don't want on the board like pingers you might end up committing more mana to repeatedly casting your creature than it's worth. Alternatively you lose a draw to it and keep it in your hand until the pingers are dealt with but that might put you in a situation where they go out of their way to fill the top of your deck with slivers so they don't have to worry about you getting ahead while they set up their win con. Or you just let them hit the graveyard, but either way your sliver was circumvented.

i'm not sure i would be using pulmonic sliver or wild pair anyway, but Patriarch's Bidding is too good to pass up in tribal decks. but even if you were already meeting the deckbuilding restriction anyway, jegantha just doesn't really add anything to slivers. might as well be a vanilla 5/5 for 5. by the time a slivers deck gets to 5 mana it'll already have enough to cast its creatures.
