Yeah, I know, it's a second post about Lands (The first time I wanted to go Temur, then it fell short), but now I'm stuck between and . I suppose my main question is why is worth it here? Yes, it offers ways to win, but what else? What is something it can do where mono- can't?

Your biggest draw to is Omnath, Locus of Rage and Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle. Besides those 2 I can't think of much. You could also use instead of . Who did you have in mind as a commander?

doesn't offer as much in my mind. Ok, there's The Gitrog Monster (All Hail!), but that's it. Flavorfully, I want to capture the flavor of Exploration, so I want to ramp hard (Not saccing lands to fight like with the Ents of LOTR fame). Besides, I identify as , so I'll want a fitting set of generals.

Talking about generals, has a triad of generals: Borborygmos Enraged for casual games. Omnath, Locus of Rage for cutthroat opponents then Mina and Denn, Wildborn as my default.

You forgot about Ob Nixilis, the Fallen :). Anyway, if you're looking to capture the flavor of Exploration then perhaps Azusa, Lost but Seeking? Omnath, Locus of Mana is also a strong mono green option. I forgot about borborygmos and M&D but I still can't think of anything in red besides those. How many lands were you planning on running i this deck?

True. I forgot he existed. :)

I didn't mean the card exploration. I meant the theme in general (no pun intended). Ramping ("exploring") until I get enough lands and landfall triggers to steal the game.

also has Tunneling Geopede, which is a Purphoros for lands. Retreat to Valakut is pretty good. I even gave me a win while playtesting a version of the deck. Seismic Assault as a win-condition or removal. Akoum Hellkite can help clear the board or whittle opposing life totals. Zendikar Incarnate and Grove Rumbler may be just big beaters, but they're quite good in their own right.

I was thinking 37 lands, but I'm settling in at 40.

Try to post articles weekly. Nobody wants an article page from the same person multiple times.

If you want to ramp hard and play big creatures, and quite a bit of them, while everyone plays less creatures, Ruric Thar, the Unbowed is a decent option and punishes those that play noncreature spell based decks.

...except Ruric Thar will kill me through his own effect. I'm not going with the all-creature plan.

Wheel is already in my potential R/G list.

I'm wanting to know whether adding is worth the hassle. Right now, Titania, Protector of Argoth is looking like a really strong option in my books.

@Phaetion: I don't know anything about titania as a commander, but I run her in the 99 of my gitrog deck and she's really strong in there, especially with Zuran Orb and Squandered Resources.
