Mill/combo players! Want to be more of a dick than usual?

To execute this combo, you will need three cards on the field and one in hand: Tamiyo, the Moon Sage, Liliana of the Dark Realms (can be in hand optionally, it won't matter for the combo), Phenax, God of Deception, and Dark Ritual in hand.

Now bear with me.

-Ultimate Tamiyo, the Moon Sage to get her emblem.

-Cast and recur Dark Ritual as many times as you need to get up to at least, say, 20,000 black mana in your mana pool just to make sure you have enough.

-Cast and recur Liliana of the Dark Realms as many times as you need, -3'ing her each time to pump up Phenax (or alternatively, any other creature you have out as long as Phenax is on board as well) to around 100/100 or so (or hell, as high as you want it to get).

-Tap Phenax/creature A to mill out your opponent's whole library.

-End turn. Watch them dissolve into tears in front of you and swear to never play you again as long as you live.

You're welcome.

Stifle.

dude, this is a combo with a HUUUGGGEEE ammount of flaws.

here are a few:

Stifle, Turn to Frog effects, counterspells, bounce effects, someone being smart enough NOT TO LET TAMIYO GO OFF!!!, a Lightning Bolt, ETC.

also, this isnt even a very easy combo to pull off. try Mindcrank + Bloodchief Ascension ya silly! XP

Ah yes, the classic "dies to removal" argument. A friend at my LGS introduced me to this combo, and you know what? He very rarely got it to go off. But when he did... Oh man. The looks on everyone's faces. Because the best part is, you can do this 1v1 or to a whole table of players. It's an infinite recursion combo. Emphasis on "infinite."

Also if Tamiyo's emblem is online, counterspells don't mean shit unless they exile in the process. Tamiyo will just bounce them back to hand upon being countered.

it's good to note all of those cards can be used individually of the combo, meaning you lose very little from your deck by running them.

well yeah. im not saying to take it OUT. it has usefull components.

nonetheless, I think we ccan all agree JUST getting her emblem wins the game. infinite or not.

I think the more important thing to note here is that there are four pieces to this combo. Not consistent enough to matter.

With enough tutors that wouldn't really matter. I mean, my Alesha Duel Commander deck has a 4-card combo in it and with all the tutors I have, whenever I feel like I need the combo to win the game, I can search it up no problem and the game's mine. (Alesha, Who Smiles at All The Wincons is the deck I'm referring to.)

Or you could just use all the black mana to cast a game ending Exsanguinate...bonus points if using Boseiju, Who Shelters All

Because why the hell not? My Kruphix deck has, like, a 12 card combo as one of its many win cons. It can be more or sometimes less.

Honestly there are better ways to abuse Tamiyo's emblem than that complicated combo.

Jace's Archivist + Mind Over Matter when used with Tamiyo's emblem is bullshit, for example, and can be used on its own if needed.

Omniscience is even worse.

There are a lot easier ways to abuse Tamiyo's emblem than that long complicated combo. That's pretty easy to break.

You're in blue. You can just Spell Crumple + Tunnel Vision and then make them draw two cards. That has the advantage of still working if they have an Eldrazi titan in the deck.

I'm generally not a fan of infinites, but I would definitely pull this off given the chance too.

Any combo where step 1 is ultimate a planeswalker is a bad, unreliable combo. Also if you are able to ultimate Tamiyo then you've probably already won and any number of other cards will close out the game shortly.
