Commander (EDH) forum

Im new to the game and i decided to play commander/edh and someone offered me a choice between 2 decks
Sealed 2013 pre-constructed commander deck Power hungry
Or
Sealed 2013 pre-constructed commander deck nature of the beast
I really don't know which to pick so i have 2 questions
How does each deck work (the mechanics in general)
Which deck would be more appropriate for a noob to the format
So from looking at the decklists it looks like Power hungry is based a lot on the commander, Prossh, Skyraider of Kher and in general producing tokens. Just make a bunch of 1/1s and kill with some of the pingers and sac outlets in the deck or with prossh himself or overwhelm them. Nature of the beast is more about countering lifegain control decks and just summoning medium to large beast creature type creatures. I would say power hungry is probably the better deck but nature of the beast would be an easier deck to play just would not win as much in my opinion. Both have very powerful commanders so either one will probably use the commanders a lot since they are usually good either with the deck (prossh) or just by themself (marath).

Marath is a much more versatile commander who not only easily lets you go infinite for the win but also gives you much more utility than non-blue colors tend to offer. If you're interested, check out Token Abuse to see what a not too expensive marath build can offer and if you have any questions I'd be happy to help clear them up; I didn't explain any of the combos in the primer but that's just because there's 20+ involving marath and two other cards and many more involving 3 cards on their own or marath and three other cards.

Prossh and Power Hungry in general is leagues better than Nature of the Beast in terms of power level. That being said, you should pick the one that interests you most, it sounds like you're not playing cEDH, so play who you think will be the most fun for you.

Both are pretty similar; go infinite with tokens & swing. As to how they play, all the 2013 decks are good & easy to upgrade
