Are you just jamming a bunch of legendary creatures into a cube? or is this specifically a 'commander cube'

A commander cube. Its meant to be drafted randomly in a commander pack at the beginning of the draft with 5 commanders then a draft after the commanders are drafted

Here's a guy on CubeTutor that has a pretty solid list if don't want to assemble a list yourself. A Commander Cube list is about as much fun to put together as a 720 cube list.

The hardest thing about this is going to be finding themes/cards that enable some strategies while still complementing others. Essentially; Narset and Melek play well together, but would you want Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge too or would that create too much competition for the UR enablers just leading to crappier decks overall?

I'm in the same boat brewing an EDH cube up, and am concerned that it could feel too segmented, like there are no choices but to build the decks exactly how I envisioned them...if you get the right cards that is. If you don't you end up with a hodge-podge of cards that just look like good stuff.

Thanks for the list, except Im putting it all together so its approximately capped at 5 $ per card. Its a great start but I will have to replace some cards

Slightly on-topic question: Is it possible to build an EDH cube with only 3 colors?

On-Topic: A couple of those generals are a bit questionable (ex. How many dragons are you going to use with Silumgar, the Drifting Death), but who am I to judge? An EDH cube (and Cubes in general) is an embodiment of what you want/love to run. Ok, I'm being philosophical here, but just run cards you really want to run, just ensure that each color combinations are given an equal number of cards. Also, just bear in mind the following:

-Is there a strictly better card than the one I'm using?

-Is this card within my budget?

and a few others that I can't think of atm.

Phaetion Thanks for the advice! Regarding your Silumgar question, Its mainly a counter for token generation in the cube which I wil be adding. its meant to be a pest to those decks who can't answer to it. Sure, there will be other dragons but that's mainly why he is there. also i really like the whole idea of just putting in cards I like. Like i said before thanks for the advice!

As someone who has tinkered with commander cubes for going on two years now, I would HIGHLY recommend you drop the color identity rule, put one commander in per player, and make commanders draft like Cogwork Librarian. I would also make them mostly support and value cards in mono-colors or colorless, not build-around combo pieces in two or three colors. Trust me; this massively streamlines the whole experience for your players. You want players to explore and enjoy the cube, not fret over color identity.

as my commander cube is massive, I will just link it lol EDH Cube

I would say some commanders will just piss people of (GAAIV) and some are pretty shit, (Lavinia) but each playgroup to their own ofc. I have had my cube built and modified it alot over the past year and a halg. It supports many archetypes and some tribal, and we have had some really cool varied decks. Its almost completely foil too! :-)
