I’m curious about commander. I’ve seen people play it between rounds at my LGS and I’d like help with choosing a comander.
My thought would be green Black (although I could go more) Death/trample as it’s one of my favorite unwriten rules. What legends fall under this parameter?

Well here is every golgari commander:
https://edhrec.com/commanders/bg
For your first deck it is better to stay away from having too many colors. It just makes the deck more expensive and harder to put together, imo. That said if you want other colors then go for it.
Since you want the deathtouch/trample thing I would go for one that already has deathtouch or trample. So here are a few you might really like.
Glissa, the Traitor - generally an awesome stax deck with her being able to kill most anything. Lots of equipment give trample and if they get blown up she can put them beck into your hand.
Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons - doesn't have either ability her self but makes tons of deathtouch tokens. It is a fairly easy step from there to give them trample and pump them with any number of green spells. She is also a pretty staxy commander.
Gorm the Great // Virtus the Veiled - I haven't played this pair but I've seen them in a few games. Virtus is devastating... And no one wants to get hit with him so he almost needs to be given trample or other evasion even with Gorm being present.
Sisters of Stone Death - She is a bit different. Technically she doesn't have deathtouch. What she does is better! Add trample and she does her thing while smacking in for a lot of commander damage.
Finale note is power level of these commanders. None of them are considered competitive and Hapatra and Glissa are likely the only ones I listed that could sit comfortably at a high powered table consistently. And your strategy doesn't always work very well in commander. The attack step is usually just not strong enough... Still you should play what you want.

Honestly it depends on what you're looking to do with deathtouch and trample. Personally, as far as BG (Golgari) commanders go, I personally love The Gitrog Monster and it does have deathtouch. Also, you can always make a deathtouch/trample deck with Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord .
If you're willing to go a third color, I think a commander that would work out well also is Kresh the Bloodbraided . For one thing, Kresh decks are combat oriented so keyword givers and keywords in general are great, and Kresh works best if you're killing off lots of creatures.

Sliver Overlord then tutor up Venom Sliver and Horned Sliver . slivers have a lot of power buffing creatures like Sinew Sliver and Predatory Sliver to help ramp up that trample damage. you also get Striking Sliver , which is really good with deathtouch. a 1/1 with first strike/deathtouch can safely block and kill a vanilla 10/10, for example.

Sapling of Colfenor is a decent goodstuff commander. Helps keep your hand full of creatures, indestructible means she's harder to remove, and has a pretty straightforward strategy of just attacking ftw

Hey, DrukenReaps gave you good advice; keep it simple for your first Commander deck. Play one or two colors to start out :) Green Black is called Golgari and to get you started on your new Commander adventure with Golgari consider getting the Guilds of Ravnica Golgari Guild Kit? Scroll down the page to the Golgari one. This Kit is selling for $20 and has many good cards you can use in a Golgari Commander deck including three different legendary creatures to choose from for Commander.
Good cards in the Kit:
- Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord
- Savra, Queen of the Golgari
- Izoni, Thousand-Eyed
- Golgari Signet
- Deathrite Shaman
- Abrupt Decay
- Elves of Deep Shadow
- Grisly Salvage
- Putrefy
- Lotleth Troll
- Deadbridge Chant
- Glowspore Shaman
- Plaguecrafter
- Stinkweed Imp
- Golgari Findbroker
- Shambling Shell
- Gaze of Granite
- Drown in Filth
- Golgari Charm
- Status / Statue
- Golgari Rot Farm
- 16x basic lands
The Guild Kits are in my opinion some of the best products Wizards has recently made. The value of the cards in the Kit is about $22.
I second both of dbpunk's suggestions as Commander options for you to choose from. Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord is included in the Golgari Guide kit and is a budget Commander option, good creature to give trample. The Gitrog Monster is a more expensive price option as a Commander. If you can afford Gitrog go with him because not only is he a big creature who has deathtouch, but he's also a good creature to give trample too and his abilities are a little more complex than Jarad, more fun to build around and later expand on. Jarad can be a card in the 100 card deck of Gitrog.

Vhati il-Dal could work for the trample portion. Glissa, the Traitor if you run alot of artifacts. Also I'd like to direct you here for a list of commanders as well as a resource for deck building in general.
