Since i didn't find an open thread for this topic i wanted to know your most memorable openings.
Reason why i'm interested in this is, that i had an insane start with my Omnath, Locus of Ramp deck yesterday:
T2: Forest + Skyshroud Claim + Gruul Signet
T3: Omnath, Locus of Rage + Mosswort Bridge (Tokens:1)
T4: Mountain + Primal Growth + Harrow + Animist's Awakening (X=5, 3 Lands) + Boundless Realms via Mosswort Bridge (Tokens:20)
T5: Genesis Wave (X=24) -> Instant GG by the other 2 players
I kept the deck in it's box for the rest of the evening...
Turn 1: Brushland -> Exploration -> Scrubland -> Dark Ritual -> Necropotence. I proceeded to assemble my infinite combo on turn 3.

Ancient Tomb > Helm of Awakening > Sol Ring > Mana Vault > Lightning Greaves > Kuldotha Forgemaster > Blightsteel Colossus > kill everybody with infect before turn four.
That was a fun game.

This is what makes green crazy good. Mine wasn't a turn one thing. Some time into my game around turn 5, in my only mono green edh, that you can find in my profile page
With 6 lands and nothing much else
- turn 5. Forest Caged Sun
- turn 6 Forest then Sculpting Steel copying Caged Sun, then casting Genesis Wave for x 19 landing all kinds of good stuff. I got 7 different kinds of lands that didn't come in tapped including Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and a bunch of green creatures including Greenwarden of Murasa getting my Genesis Wave back so I casted it again for x 24 a similar thing happened. This time I got Akroma's Memorial and won on this turn with

I suppose mine would be the one time my U/W control deck won turn 2.
First Turn: Island -> Sol Ring -> Mind Stone -> Mana Vault
Second Turn: Island -> Lightning Greaves -> Bribery taking Blightsteel Colossus -> Opponents all Scoop.

I love Bribery for these early casts. I was able to cast it on my 3rd turn in my Oona - Out of the blue deck three times. Twice for a Blightsteel Colossus and once for a Consecrated Sphinx. Good times!

Momir Vig, Simic Visionary deck let me ramp into a turn 3 Imperious Perfect+Intruder Alarm infinite elf combo.
An over zealous Nylea, God of the Hunt player ramped into a turn 1 Eureka. He figured he had the advantage with his deck being full of monster smashers. I first made sure to get a Plains out, followed by Sanguine Bond, and then Exquisite Blood. Finally they decided I was took much of a risk at this point and they stopped it. Turn passed to me and I drew, played another Plains, tapped both and dropped Auriok Champion. I passed turn and each player realizing the futility of what was going on said "go" one after the other. My turn came up, I drew, played a Swamp, played my general, Karlov of the Ghost Council and won the game on the spot.
The blue players lacked the land to counter and the red/black players couldn't touch my Auriok Champion. The whole table turned to the green player and said, turn one Eureka, are you kidding me?! It was rewarding.

Playing Krenko against a slow Golgari deck and a Blue deck:
Cavern of Souls naming Goblin -> Sol Ring -> Defense Grid
It was a short game; turns out it's really easy to assemble a combo when counterspells all cost more and can't hit my creatures.
I had another game with that deck where I kept a creatureless hand, and drew Goblin Recruiter on turn two. Suddenly I've got the combo on top of my deck with a Goblin Ringleader to grab it all.

Raging_Squiggle, I'm trying to figure out the math on your t1 play
Sac Crystal Vein (net ), play Mana Vault tap for
(net
). Lightning Greaves and Metalworker cost
together; not sure how they were played this turn
Obviously once you have Metalworker out you can reveal Voltaic Construct and two other artifacts to put in your pool, then play and use the construct's ability to go infinite. I'm just not seeing how you got the greaves and worker out :P

Maybe if there was a Sol Ring in there somewhere?

Mine was with my Damia, Sage of Stone deck. I drew a hand with Manabond and 6 lands.
T1. Draw another land, play manabond, dump all of my hand into play.
T2. Draw another land, play it, play Damia.
T3. Draw a fresh hand with a ninth land and Tooth and Nail. Entwine Tooth and Nail, the rest of the table scoops.
There was also another really fast T1 with Damia. It went like this: Land, Mana Crypt, Azusa, Lost but Seeking, two more lands, the rest of the scoops because I have 5 mana in play at the end of turn 1.

Sorry, missed a Mana Crypt in there. Since it was multiplayer, I drew an artifact for the turn. Don't remember what they were, but I had 2 artifacts left over in my hand.
Crystal Vein for , Mana Crypt for
, Mana Vault for
, total of
right now. Then Metalworker and then mana.
April 18, 2016 2:06 p.m.
@Raging_Squiggle, what mana dork were you using to go infinite with Voltaic Construct? The only colorless mana dorks I know of tap for only .

Raging_Squiggle says... #19
Metalworker. Use him and reveal at least 2 artifacts from your hand. You use of that mana to untap Metalworker via Voltaic Construct and repeat as many times as desired.

T1- Swamp, Sol Ring

T3- Opal Palace, Grand Architect tapping a to actuvate my infinite combo casting things like Hero's Downfall, Distant Memories, etc then into Behold the Beyond, grabbing Sheoldred, Whispering One, Diregraf Colossus
, and Gravecrawler. Casting Grimgrin and Gravecrawler for infinite P/T Grimgrin and thats when my opponent scooped lmao

I can fairly consistently cast Tasigur on T2. That never gets old. (The deck doesn't run mana rocks)

Playing my Titania, Protector of Argoth deck:
Turn one:
- Misty Rainforest, cracked it for a basic Forest
- Exploration
- Ancient Tomb
- Sol Ring
- Crucible of Worlds
Turn two, Titania is in play along with three 5/3 elementals. In a perfect world I would have also had Zuran Orb or Sylvan Safekeeper and Concordant Crossroads to sac all of my lands and kill somebody on turn two.

Just remembered another one.
Wasn't really an explosive turn or anything but just funny.
With my Sidisi, Brood Tyrant deck I landed a T2 Survival of the Fittest and started activating it right away thanks to Sol Ring. (Used ring to cast survival so I had a available.)
A few turns later I had tutored and discarded Bloodline Keeper Flip and Grimgrin, Corpse-Born and used the last 2 tutors for Necrotic Ooze and Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord. (I had also landed a Golgari Signet.)
I played the ooze on T4 and watched as the table proceeded to tap out, including both players.
It gets to my turn and I untap with 7+ mana and just say "Well, I'd like to kill the table cause you all tapped out."

Most Memorable turn one huh
There was this one time where we where doing a 4 player game and no one complain about their hand or had to mulligan.
Damn that was a good game.

Playing Teysa, Orzhov Scion
T1 Land, Sol Ring, Altar of Dementia
T2 Land, Darkest Hour, Soul Warden
T3 Teysa, Orzhov Scion, Win.
Or alternatively
T1 Island, Sol Ring, Sapphire Medallion
T2 Island Dream Halls discard a blue card to cast Arcanis the Omnipotent
T3 discard a card to cast Mind Over Matter. Win.
Both of these have only happened once and each was glorious.

Island, Lotus Petal, Flash, Academy Rector (grabbed omniscience) Ulamog, ceaseless hunger, Emrakul, the Aeons Torn.
It was french and it was the best way to kick off our tournament. Dude cut me into EDH glory. The first two cards I drew into were Ulamog and Emrakul and I was like well crap, there goes this hand. I was wrong
Raging_Squiggle says... #2
This happened in my colorless Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre deck. Needless to say I doubt it'll ever happen again.
Turn 1: Crystal Vein, Mana Vault, Lightning Greaves, Metalworker, Voltaic Construct. Gain infinite mana. Turn 1 Ulamog with shroud and haste.
