I recently took apart my Borborygmos Enraged edh deck and turned it into a Xira Arien deck so Borb could be paired with The Gitrog Monster. Since Xira Arien seems pretty open to interpretation as a commander I am wondering what direction you guys would take, or have taken, her in.

Well since you started with borbor and expanded your colors to grab gitrog I wouldn't even really give the commander a second thought. The deck should revolve around the two of them rather than her.
If you can afford them then Life from the Loam and Crucible of Worlds would be nice. I think the life from the loam will be better for you since it allows you to keep discarding lands to borbor.
I would go heavy on lands, probably no less than ~40 in the deck. Some of the better land fall guys would go in too. Omnath, Locus of Rage for instance.
Being more of a 'hidden' commander deck some search is needed.
That is just some of my general thoughts.

Back in the day, I wanted a Jund EDH deck that used stuff like Sneak Attack and Elvish Piper to cheat in big creatures then reanimate them back onto the field, with stuff like Chainer, Dementia Master. I'm sure I could find it if I wanted to. lol

AkrosTheClear,
I had a friend who played her for a while, looooong ago. She's very non-threatening, so it was weird when he played her because we immediately knew something was up. He played her VERY politically, targeting people for card draw when they'd not attack him, etc. His whole goal was to sit back and not appear threatening, until there was only him and another player left. And by then he always had plenty of solid threats to finish the game. I went looking for his list online but couldn't find it, but I'm pretty sure he started with this article.
Good luck (and good skill) with the brew!
