this guy card- 4buw

legendary creature- panda

whenever a triggered ability is.. well.. triggered, you may choose to copy it with new targets.

whenever a creature deals damage to you, you may scry 1.

first strike

7/4

The abilities seem negligible and out of flavor.

And too powerful. Copying any triggered ability? ..including those you don't control? ..and for no cost?

Yeh but 7 mana with 4 toughness, and no hexproof.

April 11, 2015 12:17 p.m.

exactly. its OP, but its fragile. it can also potencialy be a good blocker with the 7 damage first strike. Really, it just gives you the potencial to make an interesting deck around him, and he's built for EDh anyhow, since thats really the ONLY format I play.

The problem I have with him is that his first ability is a triggered ability, and therefore abled to be copied with his ability leading to infinite copies of a triggered ability.

April 11, 2015 1:14 p.m.

sigh. Didnt intend for that to happen, how would I word it to prevent that?

Make it only occur once per turn? I don't know if that's legit.

Being in Esper colors I could see having it copy the triggered abilities of artifacts and enchantments, but not creatures. Or it could be limited to other creatures you control, or just other creatures.

Why not introduce a mana cost like in Strionic Resonator. So it's like a Strionic Resonator, but a creature.

Also, 4 toughness is fragile but it's not particularly fragile in combat thanks to 7 first strike power. With abilities like that, I'd rather see this card as a 4/4 or 5/5, or even with no evergreen keywords.

Matsiku, Archiver of Worlds

Legendary Creature - Spirit Panda

Defender, Flash

Pay , Matsiku, Archiver of Worlds loses Defender untill your next turn.

Whenever an artifact or enchantment's ability is triggered copy that ability, you may choose new targets for the copy. You may do this once per turn.

Whenever a creature deals damage to you or is killed by your commander, pay . If you do Scry 1 and gain 2 life.

5/7

So, I think that your card was off flavorwise. Esper colors arnt that aggressive, and they revolve around manipulation instead of aggro, but also a 7 cmc card needs to have an immediate affect. When I think esper I think spirits and knowledge and manipulation, and also your card was a panda, so I tried to give it a Chinese or Japanese ancient dude type feel. I made a name that felt like this, and also revolved around knowledge and protecting it. I took your idea of copying abilites and made it a little more manageable and fair. Also, I felt like since Esper is black you should have some mechanic that revolves around death. To also make him a constant presence, as a knowledgable elder would be, he has flash for a combat trick if need be. Also, I gave him, for flavor, defender (but this cant be lost). So basically...I tried to do a thing...halp.

I like. I really, really like it. But I think that the first ability should also give it flying. Spirits tend to fly and it would be fun to see a creature lose defender only to be a better defender.

The abilities just seem so random together...
