Bane Of Evil 2WW

3/3 Human

Tap: Exile target creature until Bane Of Evil leaves play. When Bane Of Evil transforms return them into play under your control.

5W Tap: Transform Bane Of Evil. Activate this ability only if your opponent has 3 creatures exiled by Bane Of Evil.

"I will always stand against darkness"

Tamer Of Evil

3/3 Human

All creatures you control are white and can't be any other color.

White creatures get +1/+1.

Non-White creatures get -1/-1.

"To stand against these new horrors we need the help of old ones"

lets take it line by line.

the first ability. the tap exile one. i believe that the second sentence should be its own ability worded something like "when ~ transforms put all cards exiled with its ability under your control.

the transform abilty should be worded something more like "Transform Bane of Evil. Activate this ability only Bane has exiled 3 or more creatures.

the "All creatures you control are white and can't be any other color" has some problematic phrasing that i dont think you intend. I think you mean something like "all creatures you control are white". if a card was black before this effect, it now is white and is only white.

Also this is crazy stupid strong for only 4 mana. Even ignoring the "put them onto the field under your control part," tap exile a creature is super strong.

that first one is fucking ridiculous, like seriously.

it might be acceptable at 7 mana, and even at that it would be good.

here's an example of one that's still amazing but not entirely fucking busted Admonition Angel

well to be fair a card like Admonition Angel (6 mana) can be activated twice the same turn it comes in using a fetch (but this essentially would make it essentially 7 mana).

so don't think that this needs to be a 7 drop. i think something like a 6 drop would be more reasonable since it is a tap ability and still needs to wait a turn to use its ability (baring haste).

@aholder7 but Admonition Angel is also fairly conditional and does not give all the stuff to you! thats insane!

i just wanted to argue for the other side so that it would maybe give a bit more conversation to what could make it a 6 drop. 100% honesty this is a 7 drop that will never actually get to be played due to and excessive mana cost and needing to survive 3 times and pay 6 more mana to use.

i dont play edh. i dislike the format as a whole. my comment was meant in reference to formats like standard, modern, and legacy/vintage.

what the fuck did you say

why do you dislike the worlds most social format?!

from all the experiences ive had with the format in various play groups, i feel that its a format i have to want to be bad at. if i build a deck that does well against the group, im told its not fun. so i have to play a weaker one. if i play a weaker one, i end up losing quite a bit more, so i try and improve it. then im told it's not fun to play against a deck that does so well. so i have to start again. the only compromise i've found is making a good deck that can kill everyone, but instead of actually doing that, i just sit there with lethal on board and just switch to draw-go and wait until someone else can kill me after i swing almost lethal at most the board. i understand that the decks and games are supposed to feel more unique each time you play since it's a singleton format, but every game ends up feeling almost exactly like the last. i almost feel like im playing the same game each time.

its mostly a personal thing. i understand its fun for a lot of people and that they enjoy it. but for me personally i just dont like it.

@aholder7 the group that you played with sounds like abunch of wimps :|

in my group we all play whatever we feel like and do silly card interactions while building a presence and trying to stop ourselves from dying. simple and fun.
