Card creation challenge

Custom Cards forum

Posted on Aug. 28, 2015, 4:15 p.m. by TheNextRedDude

Ok, heres how this works. You create a card to the specifications of the person above you, then list your own card idea for the next person. I'll start.

Variety XX

Sorcery

If X is 2 or lower, draw X cards. If X is 3, put X +1/+1 counters on X target creatures. If X is 4, return X target creatures from your graveyard to the battlefield. If X is 5 or more, Variety deals x damage to target creature or player. If X is 10 or more, you win the game.

Create a life gaining multicolored Turtle with power twice it's toughness or vice versa.

Sweep - Return any number of Islands and/or Plains you control to their owners hand. For each Island returned this way, draw a card. For each Plains returned this way, gain life equal to the number of cards in your hand.

I'm not sure how to cost this. If I cost it at three, on turn three you could theoretically return three Tundras to your hand to draw three cards and gain 36 life for three mana, which seems pretty good if you don't care about having too many lands in play. At five it seems slightly overcosted. I don't know. Perhaps the Plains effect should be fixed life gain, rather than equal to cards in hand, but I don't think that's to interesting. Maybe I remove the blue and it just becomes a straight up life gain effect?

Make a green card with Sweep.

July 28, 2017 2:20 p.m.

Abstract Reality

Enchantment

Abstract Reality is Red ad Blue.

Flash, Shroud, Abstract Reality can't be countered or exiled from the stack.

If Abstract reality would be drawn from your library, discarded, put into the graveyard, or exiled from anywhere but the battlefield, cast it instead.

For each creature, take it's converted mana cost then add that number to it's power then add that number to it's toughness.

If for a creature, the total number is even, swap its' power and toughness and it gains +X/+X where X is your hand size.

If for a creature, the total number is odd, It's converted mana cost total becomes it's base power and toughness, then it loses it's color and gains one color of a random players choice

At the beginning of each upkeep, each creature swaps power and toughness, then gains a +1/-1 counter

Exile ~ : Exile each creature then return it to the battlefield under whoever last controlled it. Activate this ability only if you cast an instant or sorcery spell this turn.
