BGW2 Mana Cost
Legendary Creature - Treefolk Shaman
When Colfenor, The Last Yew enters the battlefield, distribute 3 -1/-1 Counters among creatures you control
Hexproof
At the beginning of each upkeep, Colfenor the Last Yew puts a -1/-1 Counter on each creature that player controls
If Colfenor, The Last Yew would be put into a graveyard from the battlefield, exile it instead. Search your Library for a creature with a combined power and toughness less than or equal to the total number of -1/-1 counters on the battlefield.
3/6
A Card built on the ideas of Colfenor from the Lorwyn storyline. I originally thought about a planeswalker centered around -1/-1 counters and the graveyard but there's just something about make a custom planeswalker on a character that was never a walker to begin with that seems... wrong.
So I decided to focus more on the Poison magic of the Yew Shamans of old, the idea of a creature that see's the end is inevitable and looks toward the future even after you are sacrificed to rekindle a Fire elemental who turns into a massive but understandable jerk who wants to watch the world burn, cough cough looking at you Ashling, the Extinguisher
So thoughts? Overpowered? Underpowered? Don't care? Let me know :D
Nice. I'm not sure I like hexproof though. Everyone making cards seem to put hexproof everywhere without reasons. But the Colfenor sapling has indestructible, right? Gave me an idea, use it if you like:
5CMC, 3/5
Indestructible
Wither
At the beginning of each player's upkeep, put a -1/-1 counter on each creature that player controls.
Colfenor gets +1/+1 for each -1/-1 counter on other creatures.

That I do like. I thought Indestructible at first but in the Lore, Colfenor was burned to ash by Ashling the Pilgrim in order to bring her back to life after being pretty much tortured by Kithkin so flavor wise it doesn't make as much sense but I LOVE the wither and the ability seems more balanced.
The Hexproof was more because being the last of his kind of a great and powerful treefolk branch (pun totally intended) and as a great shaman I thought to myself "hey self, this makes more sense"

where can I find the lore to read? I've actually had an interest in ashling recently wanted to know more about her. anyways I would agree about slimming down the effects some, it's just got too much going on great idea though

I feel like this would be more balanced if it was put on target creature not all of them.
