Corpse Centipede

Custom Cards forum

I’ve always wanted a zombie that tutors other zombies, similar to Goblin Matron for Goblins or Forerunner of the Legion for Vampires...but nastier...

(Updated last clause so that the value of X is requested before the spell resolves)

Any comments or suggestions are welcome!

Nice! This card kind of reminds me of Fiend Artisan , but just for zombies and better.

For some reason corpse centipede is awesome and the human centipede is repulsive.... that art is fantastic.

The wording needs some cleaning up but I love the concept! Well done

I’m glad you all like it!! It’s nice to know I’m not the only twisted one around here ;)

The art is awesome, I believe it is of a “manipede” from the Lovecraftian Xbox360/PS3 game Slaughterhouse. I found it on Pinterest under Lewis Erickson. I’m not sure if he is the original artist.

Omniscience_is_life, how would you clean up the wording? The first clause is identical to Haakon, Stromgald Scourge , but I had a bit of trouble with the second clause.

zAzen7977 sorry to abandon you there! I'm pretty sure the value for X can't be requested after the spell has resolved, you'd need to have it be checked on the stack--like Genesis Hydra .

Ah, I think I see what you mean Omniscience_is_life about the X value and the stack, although I’m no expert - how about the following change, based on the language of Genesis Hydra :

“When you cast ~, you may search your library for a Zombie creature card with mana value less than or equal to X and put it into your graveyard. If you do, you lose X life and ~ enters the battlefield with X +1/+1 counters on it.”

I think this wording doesn’t request the value for X after the spell has resolved - what are your thoughts?

zAzen7977 that change looks perfect to me. Love the card!

Thanks Omniscience_is_life! I learned something new about wording spells with X values.

I updated the card with the new text.
