Looks really good! You'll need some kind of legendary mythic holy-grail-ish artifact.
Not sure the name "queen of knights" makes a lot of sense though. How about champion of knights?

I like the Warfare mechanic.
Symond the Accused is kind of weird though. You would put the Rebel tokens onto the battlefield tapped and attacking, but then the combat phase would end and they would be removed from combat.

Good thing they're still samples and not yet the final design. :D

The warfare mechanic seems really cool, it allows for some really busted cards to become playable, which is awesome, and it makes combat tricks much more difficule to play around.
I don't think that i'm a fan of all of the tokens that would be going around out of your legendaries, but your walkers seem pretty balanced.
Also, where did you get your art? It's surprisingly good.
September 30, 2014 7:46 a.m.
My only thing is that Symond's ability doesn't do what you want it to do. Putting tokens into play attacking on damage feels weird.

I know. Here. LOL. Here's the fixed one.
Also, the Warfare Cycle
September 30, 2014 8:30 a.m.
I think the red and black ones are a bit too strong, maybe make the red one and to Warfare and black with to Warfare? The reason they're too strong as-is comes from the fact you'll be casting spells like that during combat most of the times anyways. The way I've costed them you get a decent rate on face value, but get a better rate in combat. Also the Green one seems really good too, but I'm not sure what it should cost to be fair.
September 30, 2014 8:41 a.m.
Also, Symond now does what you want it to do, but it doesn't read well. It should be along the lines of "Whenever Symond attacks, put a 2/1 red Rebel creature token into play tapped and attacking for each attacking creature you control." if you want him to summon a mass of Rebels. It should probably read closer to Mardu Ascendancy though, so tokens don't trigger other tokens, but that's just me.

Sorry for the double post:
I'm almost getting a game of thrones vibe! Well done.
I feel like I should point out that blue doesn't have a legend to represent itself while all the other colors do. Is that on purpose?

Well, JWiley129, for the Warfare Cycle I've used these cards as reference:
:Lightning Strike -Lightning Bolt
:Murder -Doom Blade (Sort Of) - I admit, black is kind of strong.
for and ... I'm not really sure.
Anyhow, for the Mythic Rare of Blue...
September 30, 2014 8:51 a.m.
No, I get the references, but I'm telling you they're too good as is. There is little to no incentive to cast those out of combat. My costings make the spells a bit more fair, and make them a bit easier to play around as the other player. Because, if you were to print those as is, Modern gets another Lightning Bolt and we get another Doom Blade , something Modern neither needs nor wants.

Sudden Strike reads Red Warfare. You can get a CARDNAME effect in MSE with a tilde ~

Aw.. That's supposed to be Royal Knight, not Valiant Knight.

lemmingllama says... #21
I disagree with JWiley129 about Sudden Strike. It is a Lightning Bolt with the original printing, but it is also a Lightning Bolt that can't be cast turn 1 and can't be used on the opponents turn without becoming a Lightning Strike .
Also you need some effective removal. The creatures from your set seem pretty strong, plus the only mythics that can be hit by Sudden Strike and die is the black and red, and the black one can be regenerated.
As for power levels, I'd say that the blue mythic is a bit too strong. Currently it reads "Clone a creature three times". It might be better for it's -2 reads "Put a token onto the battlefield that's a copy of target non-token creature you control"
September 30, 2014 10:46 a.m.
lemmingllama says... #22
Also I love both of the mechanics that you are using! Great work.
September 30, 2014 10:47 a.m.
lemmingllama - Every turn there is a combat step, regardless of whether creatures attack or not. Sudden Strike IS a Lightning Bolt and shouldn't be printed with a Warfare of . And I like it better as an Annihilating Fire with upside than a Lighting Bolt with a downside.
September 30, 2014 10:49 a.m.
After some thought, if you're going for Annihilating Fire with upside, I'd rather the Warfare be than . The makes it too splashable both in Limited and constructed.
September 30, 2014 10:56 a.m.
I like warfare, but I feel like it should go from "less than good" to "good" rather than from "good" to "awesome."
Morale seems good, too: what is it "when one or more creatures do combat damage to a player" then effect?
Do you want just critiques or also card suggestions?

I really want to know the flavor behind meredus. While the actual loyalty abilities aren't too interesting, the static ability is really cool.
September 30, 2014 6:35 p.m.
nighthawk101 says... #27
Ooh! To make Warfare more flavorful and to balance it, you could make it happen "as long as a creature is attacking" or something similar.
September 30, 2014 8:27 p.m.
Legendary_Creature says... #28
lemmingllama - thanks for appreciating the mechanics! i'm still looking for one more though. i want to make at least three custom mechanics. and I'll think about what you said about Meredus' -2 ability.
JWiley129 - i think you're right. but i'll think about making the warfare though.
Korombos - the set is still far from finished. i'm bound to create junk cards! lol. In the case of Morale, I've focused the ability to trigger ONCE during the combat damage step and counting only when your creatures deal combat damage. I'm not 100% sure about the wording though, but I've used "When another creature you control deals combat damage to a player" and it didn't work for me. This current one fits Morale the best. Adding to the flavor of when you or one of your comrades hits the enemy, you get all motivated. lastly, critiques and card suggestions will be appreciated.
ThatBlueMage - Well since the Set is inspired by the Arthurian Legends, I used Merlin as a reference for the blue mythic. I've done my research and found out that in the legends, Merlin lived his life backwards, meaning, he started old and gets younger. hence, the static ability and the number or base loyalty counters. Merlin also gave advice to King Arthur, that's the -1 ability. and finally, he had the ability to shapeshift or create familiars, the -2 ability.
williamgp99 - i like warfare as it is. i want to keep it less complicated too. thanks for the suggestion though!

Needs a little more umph considering the mana cost. CMC is fine but WUBRG calls for a little more. Maybe add Master Warcraft to it. Could be asking for too much.

lemmingllama says... #36
Quick question. Currently Morale has it so that whenever one or more creatures deal combat damage. So if I have a double striking creature, then that means that I will get two morale triggers, one for each time he hits. Assuming that wasn't your intent, you may want to word it something like "At the end of your combat step, if a creature you control dealt combat damage to a player, do stuff"
Also your new version of World War seems a little too powerful now. I'd say to turn the double strike into first strike.
This set also seems that another cycle of cards with the "Epic" keyword would be awesome. Get a good board position with Morale and get them stronger, then cast some huge spell that helps all your creatures and tokens every turn.
October 1, 2014 8:10 a.m.
Legendary_Creature says... #37
Morale was "At the end of your combat step, if a creature you control dealt combat damage to a player, do stuff" at first. it was too wordy. If creatures with first strike / double strike would make Morale trigger twice, then so be it. Combat matters anyway. :D
Also, I agree with turning double strike into first strike, since you get an extra combat anyway. I'm not sure about Epic though. But thanks for the suggestion!

lemmingllama says... #38
Well, I know that you want to creature a new mechanic. Its just that with all the token generation and pumping of creatures, it would be viable and Arthurian legends have that Epic vibe. Still, I'd probably rather see something new and fun.
Also I'm excited to see what equipment this set will have. There's a huge amount of cool artifacts that could be used.

Transcend Through Time could probably cost . Desolation Dragon, while balanced, doesn't look very fun.
On another note, Battle Cry and Grandeur could be returning mechanics.
October 1, 2014 11:46 a.m.
lemmingllama says... #41
It's funny how Dragon's Seige hits Desolation Dragon.
Also Desolation Dragon should cost a minimum of 7. MLD is frowned upon, and having a 6/6 flying trample probably won't help things out either.
October 1, 2014 12:02 p.m.
Epic- if you control 20 or more permanents on the battlefield, do wickedcoolawesome stuff
Epic fireballblastwave XRRR for X damage (among any number of targets), becomes for 3 times X damage
Epic Lifegainshower XWW for X lifegain, becomes 2 times X lifegain
Epic Rhino 4G 4/4 trample, gets +4/+4 and first-strike
Epic Demon 3BB 3/3 lifelink, gets +3/+3 and flying

williamgp99 TTT originally costed . And in the case of Desolation Dragon, I see it as a finisher while still having the flavor in accordance with Dragon's Seige.
lemmingllama - Yeah. I thought about that as I couldn't sleep last night. Also, I noticed Dragon Seige should be a Rare rather than a Mythic. The cards will be fixed though.

The Ranked Cycle! Let me know what you think about them.
October 3, 2014 5:46 a.m.
The ability of the blue doesn't seem very blue. Maybe something like "as long as you control five or more creatures, creatures you control have: when this cretures deals combat damage to player, draw a card" would fit the colour better.
October 3, 2014 5:57 a.m.
Legendary_Creature says... #47
i have considered that.. but yeah. that's the kind of response that I'm really hoping for. thanks.

ItchiUchiha117 says... #48
How about the blue one either loses that it can't be blocked or gains a mana in its cost and the ranked ability becomes either Curiosity for your creatures or Levitation .
Also, the green one seems a little over powered. Maybe have it cost five and the bonus only be +2/+2 and trample?
