Custom Draft Set - First Cards
Custom Cards forum

This is a kind of colorless planeswalker I've had for a while. I took some hints from Karn, and thought that it felt like a bit lower on the power scale, but costed correctly.
This card is interesting in that it can be a constant form of damage, but once it's been blocked, it gets switched. This card is very dependent on what the opponent does.
Heavily influenced by Huntmaster of the Fells Flip, this card would be less powerful if not for the activated abilities, but they are quite board dependent.
I feel as if this is the most powerful card here. It's a three mana card that does require at least 2 more mana, but in heavy artifact ramp decks, reaching 5 requisite mana by turn 3 or 4 shouldn't be a problem.
DERPLINGSUPREME I want to keep it at 3, so that it has the ability to be activated immediately, and the power level of the drat set these are going in is Vintage, so i think it fits.
And just for you, I'll go work on a legendary werewolf for you. Right now. Then post it.

If it can do the ability immediately, it's not an ult imo.
Also, cards must enter as planeswalkers as opposed to flip to them to enter with loyalty counters. That's why Liliana, Heretical Healer Flip and friends are worded the way they are.

M a g i c a l H a c k e r well then, it's not an ultimate. And I guess I have to go change those now.

Well, I mean it can cost 1 more and still be really good and Vintage level playable. :D As it stands, why would someone ever do anything but ult him?

M a g i c a l H a c k e r, if they want to keep him, use him for a boardwipe, and if you don't have any good instant or sorceries in your hand, then you're taking a blind whiff, at which point you'll lose cards (unless the point is a reanimator deck, for which this card is just too slow).

the power level for that is pretty decent. Not quite as powerful as the other guy, but as a commander he could be built around well and really dominate.

That's what I was going for. You should go make a deck for him.

Zexxun, Flame Pupil will transform as soon as you activate it's ability, even if it doesn't need to regenerate it. If you leave it the way it is, just remove the regeneration part and have it transform instead. You would need to phrase it as "Regenerate Zexxun, Flame Pupil. Activate this ability only if an opponent was dealt three or more damage this turn. If Zexxun, Flame Pupil is regenerated this way, transform it." to have it the way you want it to work. Still, assuming they block it with a 1/1, Zexxun would be in the graveyard before you were able to actually regenerate it. I personally would word it "If Zexxun, Flame Pupil deals three or more damage to an opponent, regenerate it. If Zexxun, Flame Pupil is regenerated this way, transform it."
For the Skyland duo, remember to include commas between the check and the ability itself. Look at Huntmaster of the Fells Flip for proper templating.
Overall, I like all of your card designs. I think that Azale could exile the top three cards (a la Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver), but overall I think these would be fun to play.
Also just a quick question. Will this be an entirely new set with all new cards, or will you be adding in reprints? So far I'm seeing some support for Scion of the Wild due to the heavy token theme in Green/Red, and some Ichor Wellspring type cards for the artifact theme.

Thanks for the input lemmingllama. I'll work on redoing the wording so that it works. Here is the base cube, and I'll be working on making it a 720 or 1040 Powered cube. As you can see from the card numbers, I currently have about 300 custom cards, and will add the 360 from my legitimate cube.

To note, the way that you have the flipwalkers worded right now, they die on transformation. Planeswalkers come with rules baggage attached to their loyalty counters that have them entering the battlefield with the counters on them. If they start as creatures and then flip immediately, they have 0 loyalty counters and just die. It's why the Origin flipwalkers say that you exile them and then return them to the battlefield transformed (ex. Jace, Vryn's Prodigy Flip).

ItchiUchiha117 that's funny, because when I first read llama's comment, I thought he meant what you said, not what he actually meant, so my corrections have the exile, then return to battlefield.

I like all of them a lot, perticularly the wearwolf, but DEAR GOD PLEASE MAKE IT LEGENDARY I WANNA LEGENDARY WEARWOLF PLEEEEEEASSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Zexun's ultimate is actuallt a tad overpowered, looking at it again. I'd either make it cost 1 or 2 more or do the discard at random.
