Custom Walker

Custom Cards forum

I am thinking of a BUG walker that is something like this:

Ulrion, Deadwaker

+1: Creatures your opponents control get-1/-1 until end of turn.

-3: Sacrifice a non-token creature, Draw 2 cards

-6: For each creature in your graveyard, creatures you control get +2/+0 until end of turn and Trample.

Starting Loyalty: 4

THoughts?

I like the +1, but the -3 seems underpowered and the ultimate seems too similar to the ultimate on Garruk, the Veil-Cursed  Flip. For that matter, all the Garruks' ultimates are a variation on Overrun. C'mon WOTC, let's get a little more variety here =P

This would be balanced at three mana because it's not THAT good...

So quality do I so for the -3 ability? I want to keep it sac a non token creature, as it fills the graveyard for the -6 ability... Maybe draw 4?

I was originally going to have the -6 allow you return target creature from your graveyard to the battlefield at each upkeep... As an emblem based ability...But that seemed too powerful to me. Thoughts?

Following the identity of BUG, the first minus should allow tokens to be sacrificed because green generates a lot of tokens, and black would never distinguish between resources. Blue just cares about drawing cards. It could also be -2 instead of -3, because you need to have a creature in play for it to work.

The ultimate could be a reverse overrun for your opponents. For example -6: "Creatures target player controls get -X/-X, where X is the number of creatures in your graveyard." If you decide to go with an option like this, you might want to edit either the plus or the ultimate so they aren't the same ability on different scales.

I agree with scopesightzx, not sure what exactly the +1 should be though

Second ability should just be Altar's Reap and at -2 maybe even -1.

Your idea for the emblem is better IMO. Never be afraid to go op, which it really isn't to begin with.

Also starting loyalty probably should be 3. As most walkers ultimate on turn 7.

Ulrion, Dead waker

1UBG

+1: Creatures your opponents control get - 1/-1 until end of turn.

-2: Sacrifice a creature, draw 2 cards.

-6: You get an emblem with: At the beginning of each upkeep return target creature from a graveyard to the battlefield".

Loyalty: 3

Hows this look?

Honestly, the abilities are all mono black.

+1: Cower in Fear

-2: Altar's Reap

-6: Sheoldred, Whispering One

I think to make this a better planeswalker, you either need to make it mono black or make his abilities reflect his other two colors.

+1: Put a 1/1 Black, green, and blue Insect creature token with flying onto the battlefield.

-2: Sacrifice a creature: Draw 2 cards.

-6: Creatures you control get +1/+1 and gain trample until end of turn for each creture in your graveyard, and creatures your opponents control get -3/-3 until end of turn.

I do not want mono-b for this one... I think this is better, each color is represented, Blue green for the token gen, Blue black, card draw ability, green black for the ultimate.

Hey, could I try to design a BUG Planeswalker as a way to perhaps get another option...? I don't mean it in an offensive way or anything!

how about

+1: target creature gains flying and another target creature losses flying until the beginning of your next turn. (blue/green)-2: sacrifice a creature: draw two cards. (blue/black)-8: you get an emblem with "creatures you control have trample" and "at the beginning of your upkeep put a token onto the battlefield that is a copy of a creature in a graveyard/an opponent's graveyard/your graveyard." (black/green)

enters with 4 counters.

Ulrion, Shaper of Reality

Planeswalker - Ulrion

+2: Up to one target creature you control becomes a copy of another creature.

-4: Shuffle your library, then reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a nonland card. You may cast that card without paying its mana cost.

-10: You get an emblem with "You may play cards from your graveyard."

That's cool. I would play it, that's certain.

I think the first plus should only last until end of turn, maybe make him cost 2UBG. Other than that, it's really cool!

MagicalHacker, where is the green in your walker? I think the ultimate is great and would love to use that, but it makes instants and sorceries recurring. I know Tamiyo, the Moon Sage allows the same thing, but does anyone else think they are both too op?

themindxyz says... #21

I agree. the emblem should be "you may cast permanents from your graveyard."
