Decay- When this creature dies, create 1/1 black-and-green Plant Insect creature tokens equal to its toughness.
Kraul Forager
Decay
1/1
Any feedback or thoughts?
Hi cool idea my thoughts are.
Pros:
- scaling of toughness allows for players to "combo" with pump for feel goods
- creating tokens on death enables go wide and sacrifice shenanigans.
- kraul forager is printable as is and could even be a 2/1
Cons:
- scaling on toughness means you cant put this on a x/3+ at common for borad complexity and power reasons which hurts the design space a bit
- this could create some messy board states with a big ol' pile of plants
- there a power concerns with pump spell being to synegistic.
It is a cool starting point, one thing you could do would be use a fixed number (like afterlife) "Decay 1"
or if you want to capture the decaying process you could exile it from the graveyard for a Decay cost to create either toughness or X tokens. the cost lets you balance it a bit more (and removes power concerns with pump spells at the cost of synergy)
Rotting Kraul
Creature- Insect
Decay 2, (you may pay and exile ~ from you graveyard to create 2 1/1 black and green creature tokens
1/1

How about this- Make Decay fixed and you have to pay to activate, but then make a Legendary Creature which gives all creatures Decay X, where X is that creature's toughness.
Rotting Kraul
Creature- Insect
Decay 2 (Pay , then create 2 1/1 black and white insect tokens)
1/1
Bloodsower Y'Tama
Creature- Zombie Plant
Creatures you control have Decay X, where X is their toughness.

Pretty broken at this cost. Any effect like Giant Growth on it gives 3 extra tokens when it dies, could make a really stupid good deck.

Having it be for a fixed in the graveyard would be a nightmare. Turn 1, discard Golgari Grave-Troll, turn 2, Dredge 6 and pay a couple times for a significant number of tokens.

cdkime I mean when the creature dies you pay , not when the creature goes to graveyard.
SynergyBuild Are you referring to the original idea or the revised legendary giving Decay X?

Original idea.
Both are scary though... Tower Defense

Also, that legendary doesn't specify nontoken, so infinite with any sacrifice outlet.

I'll errata that, though i should note that technically it's only infinite with Phyrexian Altar, as you need to pay for each individual trigger. Either way, it needs to be fixed. So-
Bloodsower Y'Tama
Creature- Zombie Plant
Nontoken creatures you control have Decay X, where X is their toughness.

Is this the mechanic that will finally make Righteousness a good card?

You might want to change it to "create X 1/1 black and green insect tokens, where X is it's toughness". The way it's worded now it makes a single token and doesn't show it meant to create tokens equal to it's toughness.
That said it seems interesting but also like a weird version of Afterlife.
