Not sure if something on the lines of this has been suggested before but whatever. Basically a colorless, non-land storage land (e.g., Fountain of Cho ) with a drawback (or a limit, to be more exact). This could serve as a cheaper option to Kruphix, God of Horizons 's mana ability. Also, I'm horrible with names.
Empty Bottle

: Put X mana counters on Empty Bottle.
, Remove any number of mana counters from Empty Bottle: Add to your mana pool for each mana counter removed this way.
At the beginning of each end step, if Empty Bottle has six or more mana counters on it, sacrifice it.

Yeah 2 cmc makes more sense. It's too good at 1 cmc for the above reason. And at 2 you probably don't need the trigger either. Otherwise nice card I would love to use.

So 2 CMC seems to be the way to go. I put the trigger so the card won't become overpowered when paired with stuff like Waste Not .

I would say it should trigger on each upkeep (each or your own, either works) or else it lets you dump mana into it during middle of end step that can be used on the next turn. seems like the goal is to not let that happen

I think it could be an interesting card, and putting a cap on it makes it more fair. at 1 cmc it may be a bit low, you cast that turn one, turn two put two into it, turn three a five-drop seems good. maybe costing at 2 or 3 would be less breakable.
