Bob (whatever) 1g
creature - bob :P
bob cannot be exiled
first strike
1/1
so? thoughts?
Well first strike isn't in Green's part of the color pie, so that needs to change to probably White. Otherwise this ability is really hard to template I've found. Not that you couldn't put "~ can not be exiled" but how do you template it so that makes sense. Because as the card sits it cannot be the target of Swords to Plowshares, Path to Exile, by Brago, King Eternal, Roon of the Hidden Realm, Conjurer's Closet, and other effects.

okay, for JWiley129's comment: I felt it needed something else, so I put in first strike. also, just b/c green doesn't use it doesn't mean it shouldn't be used. and what exactly did you mean by "but how do you template it so that makes sense"?

"If this card would be exiled, something else happens instead" would be how you template that, I believe.

So green doesn't get first stile because it doesn't need fist strike because its creates are so big. Now this guy isn't that large, but he shouldn't get first stoke because he's Green. If you want a green ability to give him, why not give him Reach or Trample.

"also, just b/c green doesn't use it doesn't mean it shouldn't be used"
By that argument DERPLINGSUPREME we might as well give black artifact+enchantment hate, red straight-up lifegain and no drawback draw power, white straight removal without drawback, blue targetable damage and green mill cards - because ability themes and power control in colours don't REALLY matter.
On-topic however, a better ability to reflect non-exiling could be Hexproof. It doesn't necessarily mean he can't be exiled (Oblivion Ring) but targeted exile abilities (Swords to Plowshares) won't remove him. Or a "can't be countered" clause. Or both.

I think that it could be an interesting concept. Not being exiled is very useful, maybe making a second card that gives that ability to all permanents you control?

How about something like "When Bob is put into exile, return it to the battlefield at the beginning of the next end step."
March 16, 2015 8:55 p.m.
"If would bob would be exiled, instead exile it, then return it to the battlefield under your control"
Also I think it should be wg, and be a 1/1 if you want it to be an uncommon and 2/2 or 2/3 if you want it to be a rare.

Just make it a keyword that has reminder text that says (Spells and abilities that would exile this permanent while it's on the battlefield don't exile it instead).
It would be like Doombladeing an indestructible creature. Nothing really happens, the game doesn't break. My only concern would be a weenie build where people used Path to Exile and Swords to Plowshares for extra utility. But it's still no worse than Polymorphing and indestructible creature.

Actually, I didn't even notice that. What's the point of exiling a 1/1?? Make him stronger man!

I like what KillthatBUG and kintighd are saying combined. so, a wg for a 2/3 that if it were to get exiled returns at end instead for

Seems like a fine common card.
