Idea for an cast/resolve cycle

Complicated name, I know, but I couldn't find a better one. Essentially, I was thinking of making a cycle of instant/sorceries that would do something when cast and something else when they resolve. To give you an idea, this is the first one I came up with:
The idea behind this card is that it can be a kill spell that's basically a multi-color Victim of Night which has the advantage of being able to cantrip if there's extra mana open. If the spell gets countered or doesn't resolve because of anything, you can still bounce a creature (though then it WILL be overpriced). Also, notice how you only exile one creature, but you can process multiple creatures, so this spell works well with the new Eldrazi cards. You can even bounce your own creature to save it from removal and profit off the opponent.
Thoughts for this one and ideas for the next cards in the cycle?
Thank you!!

LiveForChaos Thanks :)
IvoryFrost I guess I felt the need to make the card a bit playable, and instant-speed removal is really the only kind of removal in competitive decks. Also, being able to bounce in response to removal is part of the card.

So, even if it's countered an effect still happens?

Well the bounce effect would still happen, but the processor effect would not. The intention was also to have two completely different effects that can but don't have to be used together.

I like it but the effects feels more sorcery speed to me rather than instant.
