Illusory Siege

Custom Cards forum

Came up with this idea a couple weeks ago and a few of my friends have agreed that it seems pretty good without being overpowered, so I figured I'd share it.

Illusory Siege

Enchantment

At the beginning of combat on your turn, put a 0/1 blue Illusion Horror creature token with Haste and "This creature must be blocked if able" onto the battlefield. Exile it at the beginning of the next end step.

It's a worse Citadel Siege in U. It could be 2U and still be fine.

I didn't even think of comparing it to Citadel Siege. I guess you're right, though. Edited the cost.

This looks more like a green card than a blue card. The haste and "This creature must be blocked if able" abilities are generally well outside mono-blue's colour pie, and blue isn't well known for its token production. All these abilities easily fit into green though, and flavour-wise you could say it's like a den where a bunch of small but very tasty animals live. Each turn another animal comes out of the den in an attempt to quickly get food, and distracts a potential blocker.

I think what makes this good (not OP, but good) is in /X aggro decks so that they can swing through a little easier (key word: little) si that I like.

That's exactly what I was going for with this. Like SaberTech mentioned it's well outside of Blue's usual playstyle, and I think that helps make it a unique pick, helping part- or mono-blue be aggressive more easily. Flavor-wise, I figured this would be something along the lines of dragging up your foe's nightmares and using them to create illusions that are so scary your opponent blocks them out of instinct.

Well what I'm expecting for post rotation is there to be a very good aggro deck (maybe more midrange if you use the Flash creatures because they're pretty sweet) and I can see this being used as a 1 or 2 of. Collected Company sticks around standard and so does Deathmist Raptor + Den Protector . play this and make sure one of your good 3/3's don't get blocked.
