I'm not 100% sold on the artwork but it was one of the best I could find in terms of centering and not being overbearing, unfocused or out of color(s).
I'd like to imagine Imopet was a skilled embalmer during his life. One of, if not the best on the whole of Amonkhet; Entrusted to honor pharaohs and gods alike. Eventually, through no fault of his own other then his mortal coils, he too would find way to his own table.
Here, his most entrusted students and friends took upon the task to honor his life with death, as did so many before him.
Centuries later, Nicol Bolas would destroy the whole of Amonkhet. In the wake of destruction, Imopet would rise again. Seeing his world destroyed, he felt an oddly Human sense of grief, loss, hatred and rage. Despite having been dead for centuries, the most faint whisps of a latent spark emerged and thrust him upon a world ripe with such fresh, warm bloody bodies. There, he went back to work. However, he was unable to distinguish between the dead, and the dying. As his morality blurred, not unlike his positioning between life and unlife, he embarked on a crusade to rebuild Amonkhet.

I am considering a few changes.
Firstly, I am torn on his 2nd ability. If I keep it as a 0 cost, I think perhaps the Embalm cost should be reduced to their mana value without any taxes. In this way you may pay with any colored mana. However this doesn't progress Imopet, which is why I am considering making it a +1 but now you must pay the mana cost (color{s}) plus the tax.
Additionally, the -13 is nice and all, but a simple wrath or rift ends that whole deal. Is it worth giving them haste? That isn't very Esper. Or should I add indestructible into the emblem? An extra turn, perhaps?
Idk, I'm torn.

You know it's an automatic YES from me! lol Love the flavor and abilities on this one.
Embalm/Eternalize are so cool. I've just always wished they were a little bit cheaper, cost-wise...
