legendary clone?

Custom Cards forum

I've wanted this for a while, but what would it look like? The first thing I'm sure of would be its colors: green, red, blue. Afterall, those would be the best for the combos. I'm not sure what the ability would be, b/c it'd have to be unique newyork from the other clones, but how would you do that? ALSO, I know about sakashima, but I want something that feels kinda special, not just a clone that can bounce.

I think something like this could be interesting.

CARDNAME 2RUG

Flash

When you cast cardname, choose one:

Copy target instant or sorcery, you may choose new targets for the copy

CARDNAME enters the battlefield as a copy of a creature on the battlefield.

CARDNAME's power and toughness can't change except by it's own ability

(the idea behind this is that it's either a copy of an instant or sorcery and goes to the yard, or it sticks around as a creature. Having it be able to stick around with anthem effects after it copies an instant/sorcery could allow shenanigans with bounce effects and copying)

It makes sense, but if those are the only 2 options, I think it should only cost 4. also, while it looks stable, It doesn't have that uniqueness I've been wanting.

one sec, gotta make a call.

Ghostbusters? oh, hi there FAMOUSWATERMELON!

Dichotomoeba - 1RUG

When ~ enters the battlefield, choose up to 2 target creatures.

~'s power is equal to the total power of the chosen creatures.

~'s toughness is equal to the total toughness of the chosen creatures.

~ has all card types of the chosen creatures.

~ has all abilities of the chosen creatures.

There must be a better way to word this, but it's a cool idea.

While brainstorming I thought of a unique idea: what if it is an instant rather than a creature?

~ 1RUG

Legendary Instant (not sure how the rules would work with this. The way I see it only one could be on the stack at a time so there are no Reverberate shenanigans).

Morph RUG

Copy target spell or make a token of target permanent. Whenever ~ would be put into a graveyard from anywhere shuffle it into its owner's library.

Flavorwise I think of an exotic form of life, living magic almost.

It uses that ability when morphed face-up, obviously. Allows for myriad combat tricks.

DERPLINGSUPREME I'm going to start counting the number of times you mention me on a thread. I think it's at 5 or 6 now. BTW I'm also subscribed to the custom card forum anyways, so you don't have to summon me there.

Anyways, a legendary clone? I like the morph idea, maybe something like this?

Sorry for the weird text, but you get the point. It's pretty powerful, but considering that if you manifest no creatures, it dies, it's (I think) pretty balanced.

Seems cool! I really like it! it seems overpowered, but considering how much it costs, it seems fine! it might be better if you could only turn 1 up for free and flip the others later for their cost or something, but this looks like a cool legendary clone! thanks!

Remember that you are also just getting 3 2/2s for 5 mana, which is above the curve, plus it comes in multiple creatures.

April 5, 2015 1:35 p.m.

You mean a legendary creature like this: Sakashima the Impostor?

April 5, 2015 8:11 p.m.

Maybe I should read all of the post before I comment...

April 5, 2015 8:11 p.m.

yeah maybe you should. OR you could look like a spaz. Or you could have a V8! whatever floats your boat.

Its all good though, we've all made that mistake b4.

April 5, 2015 10:34 p.m.

Haha, I've made that mistake too often
