I am very fond of turning non-creature cards into creatures (especially legendary creatures, so that they can be used as generals in EDH decks), so that they can be exploited more easily, and this is my latest creation, which I hope that you enjoy.
Magnaverdi, Spirit of Abundance Show
This creature is a creature version of Doubling Season, but I specifically made it legendary, to prevent it from being too easy to abuse. “Magna” is the Latin word for “great” and “verdi” is the Italian word for “green,” so the name of this creature translates to “great green,” which makes sense, since it is the near epitome of the color green in this game.
In addition to its static abilities, I gave it two activated abilities, which synergize with its static abilities, in the same way that the triggered ability of Stronghold Furnace synergizes with its static ability.
What does everyone else say about this card? Is it powerful, but not too powerful, I hope? Should its activated abilities have higher costs?

TypicalTimmy, what if I made each activated ability cost ? I would like them to be repeatable, so increasing their cost would likely make them better balanced.

TypicalTimmy, I am very glad that you are so pleased with this card; do you feel that is mana cost is sufficient? Should it have any type of drawback, apart from its cost?

honestly i think it costs too much.
id make it 7 mana
with the same abilities. thus it may be playable.
if you wanted it to be competitively costed,

I'm uncertain if we'll ever see a functional reprint of Doubling Season due to its interactions with Planeswalkers and certain other cards that utilizes counters to perform something powerful, like Magistrate's Scepter.
Since Doubling Season, we've seen many similar effects, toned down; Corpsejack Menace Anointed Procession Parallel Lives. Keeping the almost functional reprint that benefits everyone at the table for last; Primal Vigor, that only doubles +1/+1 counters. I think Primal's printing pretty much shows that Wizards are rightfully scared of the interaction between doubling counters and non +1/+1 counters.
Putting the effect on a creature at higher cost makes it harder to naturally cast and since it's a creature, more colors can better interact with it. However as it is a creature, it's also a lot easier to Reanimate it and otherwise cheat it out.
I could totally believe it could see print if you turned the doubling of counters into only doubling +1/+1 counters, but I guess that's not exactly all you're interested in making.
I think the activated abilities are appropriately costed. Ant Queen can make tokens at 2 CMC. Putting counters on creatures without tapping is usually a 4 CMC ability, but I think the cost of the creature makes it acceptable to place it at 3 CMC, especially since it's double green.
I do hope WotC eventually prints a Primal Vigor that doesn't benefit my opponents. For most intents and purposes it's a "fixed" Doubling Season but the global range makes it less enticing in certain scenarios. You need to make sure that you can abuse the ability far more than any of your opponents might. It's bad enough that your opponent casts a Desolation Twin, no need to add another huge fatty to their side.
