- This card is based on a dream i just woke up from. It's admittedly not the best, but I wanted to share it with you all. I won't be making edits or corrections as this is how it was in my dream.
Monkey Paw
Legendary Artifact
Whenever you would roll one or more die, you may pay . If you do, roll that many additional die and choose the result. You than discard X cards until you can't discard any more. You lose life equal to the rest.
Be careful what you wish for.
In my dream I pulled a foil and it was awesome. Not sure if it's still as good IRL.
I get what you try to achieve but I think it needs some re-wording. As it is it could be interpreted that you can choose any result you want and not from among the cast die and it's not clear how it would work if there were multiple die casts in the initial effect. How about:
"... If you do, roll that many additional die and ignore that many of the die results. You then discard X cards and lose life equal to X minus the amount of cards discarded this way."
The idea is pretty simple and decently costed. It seems fair if not a bit on the punishing side with that discard cost.
Right now the only die casting is within the Un-sets and d20s of the Adventures in the Forgotten Realms sets so it doesn't have terribly many applications. I doubt we'll see die rolling again for a while as it isn't really a Magic thing to do. You could have it include coin flips as well to broaden the usage but that's up to you.

This seems actually pretty decent in a deck that cares about discarding and has some lifegain. Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar would propably play it. Also somewhat interesting for Vrondiss, Rage of Ancients.
