I am designing a block that is similar to innistrad, the story is about a B/W planeswalker named madar who used to be a demonic cultmaster. And he cleansed himself and now the angels are at war with humans and the mortal races. I need help designing some gothic themed artifacts and an "engineer" a.k.a an artifact lord. 3,2,1...go, and if you would like to help with all the stages of this very time-consuming project then comment and we can discuss.

That's really not a lot of direction. You need to establish a clear, intricate storyline.

Why did he cleanse himself?''why are the angels at war? What cult did he lead? Flesh out the details of the story and the cards will be much easier to design

I'm a reasonably good writer so with some direction i could do a little for you

the demon-spawn planeswalker silas comes and frames the humans for freeing a massive zombie hydra and.now the angels start fighting a war with the humans, the set has 5 gods in it. they think themselves gods and constantly vie for power. the 5 mechanics in the first set are guerilla...and that is the only mechanic i have so far.

VampireArmy he cleansed himself so he could hide from countless demons that want to collect on his debt. The cult he lead...i really didn't think about that.

Hmm....It seems like you have an idea, but it's not coming out.

It's like saying. These people are doing these things in this place because this reason. I feel like there needs to be more immerse or else no one will get sucked into your plane like you want them to. Using Innistrad as an example, take Gissa and Geralf for example. We knew all about them before either of them ever had a card but how? Flavorwise they were in the story as 2 illegal Zombie makers that used different methods of making them which they did because they were both mad scientists and trying to prove whose method was better

ya, VampireArmy i see what your saying. but it doesnt help that most of my notes about the set are on my laptop and that it isnt working. that would make everything sooo much easier to explain

I bet man. I would post-pone on what you're doing until you can either recreate your notes or get them back.

VampireArmy i think that is smart. But what would i name the plane?

September 10, 2014 9:27 p.m.

Take it from a writer: you'll come up with a name in time. Don't go out of your way to create one before then.

Is this a good mechanic?

Guerilla: if an opponent has more.creatures than you; ~ gets x or y abilityThen some ideas for other mechanics would be nice

I had an ideal creature but i subscribed and it deleted it, but i think the Guerrilla ability is cool. is it suppose to be for humans or for the artifacts and artificers too?

darnell168 sorry for the late response, I've been on vacation in Jamaica. But guerilla is for the humans and their allies.

How about this as the second of five mechanics?

Death-less: if this creature would die, instead pay 1 and put a 1/1 white spirit token with flying onto the battlefield tapped and under your control.

Too op? Too up?

i think it's a little straight forward. maybe: if this creature would die, instead XXXX and put a 1/1 white spirit token with flying onto the battlefield tapped and under your control. XXXX would be different sometimes. pay life or even do something that benefits you.

darnell168 what colors would it be in? I feel it would be a mostly white and black ability.

Here is a card that involves the lore, is it ok?

Madar's cleansing BBBWW(X)

Sorcery-rare

Gain x life and put x 3/4 white Angel tokens with flying onto the battlefield under your control

Now that i am free the demons that enslaved me will pay-madar, former cultmaster

here is a card showcasing the ability guerilla

dead-eye assassin BGGG

human archer-uncommon

deathtouch, reach, vigilance

XGB: ~ deals X damage divided as you choose among any number of creatures or players

Guerilla3(this creature gets +3/+3 if defending player controls the most creatures or is tied for the most)

4/5

probably needs a little tweaking to be viable?
