New Ramp Cards

Very unusual idea, check it out!

Sunrise // Sunset Show

What do you think? Are they too good in modern? Commander? Other formats?

I like them, especially the flavour, but neither is particularly good nor in colours that want them. Black has better spells available and white doesn't really want this kind of ramp. Making you jump one mana for one turn is not amazing. Nature's Lore essentially does the same thing - but for the rest of the game. Dark Ritual is just better. Crypt Ghast is better, probably. Colours that want these effects are usually for Storm in Modern, and they have what they need and in Eternal Formats and they have way more than they need.

The effect is too minimal to be relevant for Standard and too underpowered for any other format. See, even Dark Ritual sees close to no play in Commander.

If you really want to make them good, staple "Draw a card" on top of them, and we're talking.

I dont think they would be too overpowered at all. Would be interesting tho

Leave them as they are and tack on "Draw a card at the beginning of your next turn's upkeep" and I'll play them all day.

Wait everyone, hold your pitchforks!

I know this probably sounds stupid OP to you all but hear me out. You have to consider the fact that regular mana dorks always accelerate your mana, not just once. Regular mana dorks can attack and chump block. The ritual cards like these actually decrease the potential of your deck by taking up space and often being dead. The least you can do is let them cantrip. I mean the colors are pretty damned specific already.

The reason I do not like this is that the idea behind them is difficult to convey - especially when on a card where there is a bunch of information. Sure, it is a cool idea, but most people will never get it.

I don't see what about this is difficult to convey.

Hangarback Walker, Sylvan Advocate, Hissing Quagmire, all of these leave us with lots of questions. All of these are more complex. Hell even Storm Crow makes you want to ask more questions than Sunrise and Sunset

I was trying to turn Pyretic Ritual White, which has no spells like this. The fkavor alone is really good, though.

I like them you got my seal of approval. But with names like these I think you could do something with transform cards

If you gave them Fuse, that would be cool. 4 mana gain 6.

I think you could reverse the draw and the mana that people are suggesting and it would be really interesting.

Ritual of the Rising Sun

Sorcery

Draw a card. At the beginning of your next turn add to your mana pool. Until the end of that turn, this mana doesn't empty from your mana pool as steps and phases end.

Hmmmm, maybe adding a draw a mechanic and a draw mechance could be cool!

LeaPlath, I really like that idea!

Also, I think adding "draw a card" is the right way to go. Not too much power, but also gives a nice bonus!
